Starwars4J Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 So I have this laptop which I bought back in Feb '04 for school. I made sure that it was REALLY nice too, since I didn't intend on buying a new one any time soon after that. It's a Pavilion ZD 7000. Widescreen ('17), XP pro, 3.2 Ghz, etc. I need to find the specs, but it's NICE. Anyway, I also picked up a 3-year warentee for drops and accidental damage. In the last year, I've had to send it back a few times for the same problem. So it just started up again (a problem with the power). I called them for servicing, and half-way through, the woman (who's a head of repair or something) said that they're just gonna give me a brand new computer. They were just gonna fix it, but the woman just said that since my warentee is running out soon, she didn't want to see me left high and dry if it happened again. So they're giving me a new laptop (I believe it was a DV 9000). Same specs for the most part, except an upgraded video card, free DVD burner, upgraded dual core processor, more efficient battery, etc. It'll be here in two weeks, and she apologized for the delay :-D All I have to say is that I love HP, and strongly urge people to consider them when buying new computers Quote
Scouty Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Cool. that's nice. I have a Hp1902 Flat screen moniter and I wuv it. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Congrats! Do you know about how much it would cost to fix your other laptop? Like, could you fix the other one for a decently cheap price and then have two laptops? Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 Well, it's still under warentee (3-year accidental), so repair cost nothing, that's also why I'm getting the new one for free. But since they're sending me a new one, I have to send them back the old one :-P Quote
highlandcattle Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 My dad had a 20th Anniversairy Macintosh a couple of years ago. And we also needed to sent it back few times. Not only did Apple fix the computer in the end but the also gave us a Nice wallstreet Powerbook G3 which was really high end at the time. I love apple (except for ipods because they break all the time). Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I actually find my iPod to be very sturdy. Then again, I have an 'old' 20GB one which is pretty big. The IPod nano looks really fragile. Quote
