THE PACKAGING It’s hard too say that it’s a box. More like a piece of paper with some plastic holders. The picture shows two snakes, our minifigure, the crown and the spinner. Some of you can say that red-blue-green color scheme is too much, but I think it looks better than the first wave in 2012. The only thing I hate in the packaging is the snake on our right. It looks awful. In comparison, the snake on the left looks more mysterious, his mouth is closed, that’s why he is so creepy and nice. But don’t argue about it. It’s just a piece of paper. Most of the boxes is thrown away. Another picture of the packaging. We can see our Fang – Suei with his weapons. The picture emphasises a golden snake. It could be some kind of a whip or flail, I don’t know. Or maybe it’s just a small snake The back of the “box” shows this Fangpyre soldier fighting with Kai ZX (which was bought by my sister). The picture in the right upper corner shows the possibilities given by Booster Packs and other spinners. In my opinion it looks more like some kind of preparing a Predator for a fight with Alien. Never mind :P On the left side are other spinners and mentioned before Booster Packs. It’s interesting because this set was produced in 6 countries! Denmark (of course :P), Hungary, China, Mexico, Sweden and the Czech Republic. Let’s begin building! THE SET As you can see, I had opened the “box” and saw a few pieces, the spinner, some cards and two instructions. One for playing and one for building. I will show you some pieces with a zoom. The crown The spinner The cards – I have to say that I hate the main card with Fang-Suei. I hate the drawer of that. It looks more like a pig with that nose. And those smaller teeth… Argh… The head (in a special polybag) Bricks Instructions And finally all bricks in one place! Not too much. There is one spare part, the white tooth came twice. In the booklet we can find all weapons available for Ninjas and Serpentines. There are also set numbers. It’s easier to find a weapon which we are looking for. On the other side we’ve got other Ninja-sets and an “instruction” of building Fang-Suei. Fang Suei – I loved him from the beginning. The printings on the chest and legs are awesome! He reminds me some kind of an assassin because of these teeth necklace. Maybe he’s collecting the teeth from his victims ? Who knows? The design of the head is also great. I thought for a while that it could be shorter. But I was wrong. It is perfectly proportioned. His spinner – These picture show built spinner. It’s quite heavy. Probably that’s why the spinner-sets are so expensive. If you go on YouTube, you will find some movies with people showing all stuff in the inter part of the spinner. The weapons. Flail – I’ m not sure is it the right name for that. If I’ m wrong, please write in the comments. It is quite similar to the Lasha’s weapon (I think so). It’s effective in the fight but it’s hard to “catch” the enemy. The snake – My younger sister decided that it must be a Fang-Suei’s pet xD So sweet. That would be nice if some of the serpentines have some their Snakies :3 Anyway, I think that it’s just a kind of whip. It’s probably the only set in which it comes in golden color. The axe – simple but different from the others I know from Lego Vikings. It’s a one piece now, not two. Still looks grate. And that’s the best weapon for him I think. Our built set AND THAT'S TIME FOR SOME COOL POSES :D That's what you see after being bitten. AND SOME MATRIX And at last! The serpentines will rule the Ninjago! OVERALL Playability - 5/5 Even if you have not got another spinner you can make some barriers or something. Design - 5/5 The axe could be better. The minifigure is the best in that set that’s why there is 5. Building - 5/5 It’s easy and clear so I think it can be 5. Parts - 4/5 Just normal parts. Nothing special. Price - 4/5 I bought it on a special discount but it was still too pricy. Overall: 23/25 -> 92% Excellent! Just go and buy it set. MAKUTA NOCTURN RECOMMENDS YOU THAT SET! PS: If there are some English language problems, please write in comments! And thank you for reading! Edited April 28, 2012 by MakutaNocturn Quote
just2good Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Nice review, 'MakutaNocturn'! I still don't really like the idea of spinners being $10. That's crazy! Fang-Suei is a pretty cool minifigure, though. Quote
Ash Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 This may be the first review I've seen where the review has more pictures than the set has pieces I'll probably be getting a couple of these spinner things soon as my kid really wants some. They're crazy expensive though. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Thanks for the review, it looks an alright set for a spinner, but I just think they're far to expensive for what you get in them. Quote
Meiko Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Thanks for the review! I really like Fang-Suei, as a character in the show and as a minifigure. He's probably my favorite Fangpyre minifigure. His spinner crown is also really nice. Quote
