I have just finished putting together the 8421 Mobile Crane truck and have had a few problems. You have to start the motor alittle bit to engage the clutch to change functions, there is alot of play in the switch, you can turn it right over and it doesn't engage. Also does anyone have any fixes for the ram problem with the arm dropping???. Apart from that everything works sweet and I am very happy with this set it is awesome. :sweet:

I would make sure that all of the bricks are connected properly and fully.

If it still does it then maybe you made a mistake building it which was minor, check the image in the instructions very carefully.

I'm at work at the moment so just a quick reply - but if you check the forum I'm sure there's a fix for the dropping arm. Extra tubing to close off the open valves is involved as I recall.

I think pressurizing the cylinder would help when you want to drop the arm, no? Just pump a lot of air into the pneumatic cylinder when raising, this may hep (idea given to me by somebody else).
