Legostein Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hello everybody! Today I'd like to share a scene from "Return of the Jedi" with you. As all scenes from my purist and license-free series, this one also is very simple, including the Jabba sculpture. There are many nice brick-built versions for Jabba the Hutt by members of this forum and the community on the internet, thus I decided to build Jabba as simple as possible. It's a matter of your personal taste, many won't like the solution for Jabba, but I think it's funny to use these pieces and they do the job. That's my scene for today! Thanks for stepping by! Have a good start into the new week! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Fuppylodders Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 That Jabba just brings a smile to my face when I look at him, you continue to excel yourself yet again! Quote
JackJonespaw Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Man! These are great solutions, but they look so funny! I love Jabba! Nice job! Quote
The Joker1 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Great work as usual Legostein. Jabba is brilliant Quote
Shadows Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Proving, once again, that no matter what, Slave Leia is hot. And Duplo Jabba is hilarious. Quote
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Bib Fortuna is very creative, and Jabba is hilarious. Maybe it's just Jabba, but this is one of my favorites of the ones you've done. Quote
Big Cam Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Proving, once again, that no matter what, Slave Leia is hot. And Duplo Jabba is hilarious. Ditto, the Duplo head sunrises me. Quote
Speedboat Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Very funny use of pieces there. Jabba' face kinda reminds me of Sesame Street puppets, but your solutions are again very creative and recognisable, despite making me laugh like hell right now! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Outstanding work once again, Legostein. Clever solution for Bib's lekku, and Jabba is incredibly creative, though I think his tail is too short. And Duplo Jabba is hilarious. Ditto, the Duplo head sunrises me. Looking at the size of the studs on those pieces, I think those are normal LEGO pieces, not Duplo. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Looking at the size of the studs on those pieces, I think those are normal LEGO pieces, not Duplo. You're right; they are definitely System pieces. I love this little scene Legostein! Very well executed in a fun way. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I love seeing your take on things Legostein! These figures are just amazing! You prove that simple is sometimes better and more fun. Quote
Mr Man Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 And Duplo Jabba is hilarious. Duplo . Looks like normal Lego to me. Quote
legofett990 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Love this latest license-free vig Legostein! They just keep getting better and better, Jabba is great and I really love your hairpiece solution for Bib I can remember having a brickbuilt version of Jabba when I was younger and there was no official figure out, and your rendition seems eerily reminiscent of it Quote
Legostein Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Hello again! Wow! Thank you! I am glad so many of you have fun with the Jabba figure! You are quite right. Those rounded bricks are something like the System equivalent of the nicely rounded Duplo bricks. Because they look like Duplo. They can be found in the old "Freestyle" building sets and buckets from the late 1990s. Thanks for your comments and interest! See you around, Christopher Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I've always wondered what to use that bucket of pieces for! Great work! -A.S. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Once again, great take on another Star Wars scene. I love the simplicity of your work. Quote
Legostein Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 Hello! That's exactly the mission. Make it as simple that everyone can do it and achieve a proper Star Wars feeling. Thank you! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Brickmamba Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Very creative, couldn't help but chuckle at Jabba Quote
