Kahgarak Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I was looking at Lego S@H and saw the Claw Crusher in the United States country category.I examined the knees on the hi-res pic and noticed that they were not the standard stiff Technic connectors, but TWO pieces that can form a bending knee. If you look closely at that knee, you will notice some sort of stud coming out of one side of the knee. However, the hole on the other side does not show this shape: { } that is seen on all Technic pins. So,i'm guessing that their knees will be articulated, and like this: Click to load the CC-K theory. xenologer Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Uhh... nope it looks to me like a simple techinc angle connector with a 1*1 round plate jammed into the axlehole Thus the knee probably doesnt bend at all... Quote
natelite Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 yeah, xenologer is right. but it wasnt a 1x1 round plate but a half-technic pin that was pushed into the axle. look at these two full-blown pictures from lego stores Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 yeah, xenologer is right. but it wasnt a 1x1 round plate but a half-technic pin that was pushed into the axle. Yeah. It looks that way. Didn't know they came in black.. Quote
oo7 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Huh, I haven't examined EF 2007 yet, it looks like there is alot of bioncle in them this year, last year I thought there was very few to none. That first greenish mech holding an HUGE uzi, isn't he (along with a strange plate with two katanas connected on top 8-| ) ? But about the knees, I agree with Xeno, it looks like a 1x1 round plate, not a half-pin (on a side note half-pins only come in blue, Lt gray, Lt bley, and white). Quote
Kahgarak Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Hm.You guys seem to be right. :-$ Close this topic in that case. Quote
xenologer Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I wouldn't close the topic... its still an interesting look at the pieces used... the non-bending knees kinda bugs me tho... when i get one I'll consider replacing them with the click hinges like last years models Huh, I haven't examined EF 2007 yet, it looks like there is alot of bioncle in them this year, Looking at those close up pics, It seems that there are some new pieces that are both bionical/system look at Claw Crusher's upper arm segment, its a system brick with a bionicle ball joint on each side. and Cyclones shoulders.. same kinda thing I guess given those new pices... the plan is to have more and more 'blurring' between bionicle and system in the future Quote

KMOI Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Don't forget the forearms of most of the larger mechs. Those pieces are going to be pretty rampant from what it seems. It's good LEGO stayed with the Knight's Kingdom megafig legs though. Carrying that much upper body weight would render leg balljoints useless! It's always the unoticable subtleties that really impress me about this year's larger mechs. :-) Quote
