Zane Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Here they are - our valiant heroes. They've come to investigate some spooky goings on at the aptly named Scary Laboratory... They enter through the main gate without a second thought...for the most part... As they enter the main doors, they are greeted with a terrifying sight! A crazy professor and a dead body. Spookiness...spotting our heroes, the professor decides to bring his creation to life! One of our heroes catches onto this, and, in an act of quick-thinking, attempts to stop the crazy professor, but it's too late... The monster's bed rises, and a zap from a laser brings the creature back to life!! Our intrepid adventurers run for their lives. The spookiness already seems to much for them... But the villains chase after them, and quickly knock them down onto the floor. Now that they've seen life being created, they cannot leave!! Our female hero is pushed into a chamber by the monster having chained down blokey. The monster closes the chamber door and the scientist turns the machine on, while our male hero looks on in horror. Bing! The machine finishes its work and the door opens, revealing the deceased skeleton of our female hero! The villains celebrate. That's a hug BTW. ;-) Now to deal with blokey. The scientist chooses a tool from his tool draw. Our hero has his brain removed from his head! But luckily for him, he can still live. The brain is put into a compartment for later use. Our hero regains himself, and devises a plan. He wriggles out of the chains, and lassos them onto a nearby ledge. He lands by the electric chair. Little does he realize the surprise waiting for him... The scientist has appeared behind him, and he throws our hero into the chair... The chair is prepared...but suddenly a loud bang sounds, and... ...the chair falls forward and our hero escapes, to the scientist's annoyance, who chases him. Meanwhile, the monster investigates a yelling coming from a chamber. The skeleton of our female hero is alive! She attacks the monster and beats him to the ground. At that moment, the professor notices the full moon in the sky through a window. His stomach rumbles, and... ...he becomes a hairy man weird mutant werewolf! The monsters and ghouls are too much for our brave heroes. They make a unanimous decision to leg it. They slam the gates on the monsters, and hope never to return.... THE END! Quote
Scouty Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Wow, thanks for the pic review, good story too ;-) . This set looks really nice and has alot of nifty gadgets and such. Nice variety of figs as well *y* Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Haha, great story Zane! One question though; How did the skeleton lady get turned back into a human at the end? I really love this set, I got it for my birthday a few years ago and I had alot of fun building and playing with it. Quote
Zane Posted October 29, 2006 Author Posted October 29, 2006 Oh, you see, there's a clever reason for that...uhm....the lab has a curse, so all changes to visitors aren't permanent. An older owner had that feature installed... *runs* Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Great review Zane! And I loved the story (nice way to do an image review ;-) ). This looks like a neat little set. I wish I had purchased when it came out. I love the figs the most (esp. Frank and the Ghost). Hope others might share a review of the remaining two Monster Sets: - Vampire's Crypt - Curse of the Pharaoh Quote
Chuck Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Nice Review! Just a little interesting peice of info, though. The chains are supposed to attach to the monster's head when going up. -l2k- Quote

Section8 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Not in the review, but also completely unimportant to the greatness of the set, is the 'dressing room' and movie camera that comes with the set. A director fig also comes with it. The dressing room is just a chair, table, mirror, ghost shell and batwing helmet. The parts don't detract from the set in any way. I loved the review, any chance for one of the 1381 Vampire Crypt? Quote
Zane Posted November 1, 2006 Author Posted November 1, 2006 I would do, but I don't have it. However, there is a tiny chance of getting it this weekend, but it'd set my back Quote
