I thought these parts were cool

Today I don't know if I would say the design is very good, but it is good for play value. The minfigs assortment is good too: King Kahuka, a "Capt'n Hook", and a regular islander and pirate.

I really like the drum ive tried hundreds of times to duplicate the design.

What do you mean by duplicate KAHUKA? Its not that hard to acquire the pieces you need to make up the drum and definitely shouldn't take hundreds of attempts to make something similar since the design is so simple.

Or do you mean you've tried hundreds of time to duplicate the pattern on top of the drum?

Ummm... What do you mean by that? Like ImperialScouts asked - what methods do you know?

*y* It's a good question...

In the end I'll go with the Imperial Trading Post, which I personally have always preffered to call Port Royal. I remember saving for months for it as a kid and because I couldn't buy it in South Africa I waited until a holiday in the States and was so excited just to own it, easily the centrepiece of my collection.

Question here for you folks, given that the official alternative name in some of the catalogues is Port Royal is it realistic to thing that the boys and girls at Lego were making a very deliberate statement about the Imperial Guards being the British Empire. It's a bit like the initial soldiers were wearing blue and had the fluer-de-liss on the flag, that says French to me but Eldorado Fortress... certainly Spanish or Portuguese.
