Athos Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Started work on the set for my the Johnny Thunder story and before I filled it with 1930s adventurers, I thought I would share it here. I hope to add at least two more houses, a fort and maybe a temple. If I can find enough brown pieces. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ca...ingvillage1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ca...ingvillage2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ca...ingvillage3.jpg My castle gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=99448 Steve Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 27, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 27, 2006 Looks great Steve. I never saw a real viking village, but this looks very good and realistic. The tree with the snow is beautiful (never seen before, is it from Belville set?). Quote
highlandcattle Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I'm not to fond of the flower thingies sticking out of the roofs. And didn't vikings built round houses with an open roof in the middle for the fire? Quote
Athos Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 The tree with the snow is beautiful (never seen before, is it from Belville set?). Yes, its from the Snow Queen. I need to get about a dozen more of those trees to scatter around the village. I'm not to fond of the flower thingies sticking out of the roofs. That's because they built their roofs out of turf. I also thought it gave a bit of color to an otherwise drab village. And didn't vikings built round houses with an open roof in the middle for the fire? I think they did both. These are 'long-house' style. Steve Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 It looks neat, Athos. I'm not sure how I like the plant pieces on the roofs, but I like various colors you used, and the printed tiles above the doorways look really good. :-) Quote

Athos Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Why is the dog smelling this guy? Ooops... *wacko* I hadn't even noticed how bad that looked. :-D Actually if you look closely you'll see the dog is a few studs in front of the guy, who is bowing at the statue. Steve Quote
