I've been working on a LDD project to try an make a Suzuki samurai an everything has been going alright except for the suspension on the chassi. I'm not sure what to do with the shocks them self since the locations are kinda stuck where they are due to how the body is wrapped around the frame an the battery box location.

I'm basically trying to make atleast enough room for the front seats dash an steering wheel in this so it least is more detailed then previous builds an you can use the axles I made with ZBJ's minimog just have to adapt the suspension points on the axles they are really low geared i managed to snap a u joint with the drive train hooked to a rc motor before the motor stalled :x

@ T_Tank: Do I understand you correctly, that you used Zblj's Minimog as the basis for your Lego Suzuki Samarai model shown below? You already did a Radio-Control (RC) mod of that one here. Is the Samarai's design not fitting the Minimog's LDD chassis design? Your two-line, "run-on sentence" above is hard to read. Please clarify.

Maybe you could incorporate one of the available Lego Technic Clutch Gears in your design, to help prevent the snapping of the Universal Joints. They "slip" internally at high torque:

I apologize for the poor explanation so I will try to clear this up some. The samurai uses a different chassis then the mini mog by drive motor mounting location an how the bulk of the frame is put together only thing that is compatible between the two are the drive axles though even then shock arrangements are different. The issue with the U-joint snapping torque is fairly rare that it takes one of the steered wheels getting pinned in a way that it can't pull itself off the axle an instead snaps the u-joint free, this lil guy is really geared down but its gonna be slower once I get a xl motor inside it. The goal of this is to have a small truck trial like model that unlike my mini 4x4 (which this shares a similar gear box to) will have enough torque to climb over just about anything as long as it doesn't roll.

--My biggest issue at this time is that I cannot get the shocks to do their job in my current arrangement. I didn't think the angles on the upper mounts would mattered as much seeing how many shocks on live axles look like on other vehicles but it just doesn't work on this model >.< Ideas are welcomed to how to solve this issue. I'm already experimenting with the idea of using pan-hard bars but the issue still is how to mount the shocks to the chassis an axles an have them do their job.

I like the Idea of your truck! I especially love the Suzuki Samuri body...So, maybe on your steering issur, you should put something on the steering rack or axle to limit the amount that it steers, to avoid the wheel getting stuck issue. Just add a pin on each side of the steering rack, near the pivots of each hub. Perhaps that would work. It has worked for me! Can yu send me the LDD?
