How do the switches work?

Do u really know this little about pneumatics or are u just new to technic? There's loads of info on the web and pneumatics are very straight forward really!

Check out the drawing/schematic that was posted earlier in this thread, it sort of shows how they work visually. Basically, you connect the pump to the central... erm... connector (I don't actually know what they're called, come to think of it), and you connect the other two holes/connectors to the top and bottom of one of the pneumatic actuators. By pushing the switch from one position to the other, and then pumping, the actuator will extend or retract.

I would also recommend you check out some of the instructions for recent pneumatic sets, they show quite well how they work and demonstrate some possible applications :classic:
