bigbase Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Here the pics of 7248 and 7249 More pics next.... ;)
Wolf04 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Third time this has been posted. Of course I made the mistake of posting it the second time but this guy.....this guy won't give up. I don't pay attention to numbers so I thought these would be two new sets or at least maybe larger or detailed pics of the sets.
The Middleman Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Bigbase, I suggest looking in the obvious places on the forums before posting your 'news'. Please. And yeah, wolf, again, I thought I was in for some new City stuff - and y'all know by now I'm a City fanatic.
sam89 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Well he does say "more pics next", so maybe we will get some pics we haven't seen before soon?
Wolf04 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Yes we did. I took the link location of the pictures and came up with this site: http://www.debouwsteen.com but I don't see anything new.
ApophisV Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Dudes: One question: You city guys will get hundreds of new cool sets this year (fire fighters, police, construction sets, even propably some mining sets...) so WHY do you still search for even more sets??? :| :D First we should get a new Star Wars Mini line.... :P
Vader Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Its all about the thrill of the hunt :-D and i agree we do need new SW mini sets :(
Orlego Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Yeah, it is always great to see a new set no matter what theme it is (except Bionicles ;) ). I do agree that we need a new SW mini line. Lego may release the mini line in September (I hope). It seems like these sets are always released at a later time.
WesternOutlaw Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Thanks for sharing the pictures. These sets are highly detailed. The only problem is they won't fit in my city because of the size (esp. 7249). I never thought I'd be asking for a <insert that tiresome argument> version, but this is one set that makes me want a smaller model.
Orlego Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Same here Brickster, thats why I liked the prototype better than the final version. ;)
The Middleman Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 You never know - we haven't seen road plates for the new City yet. Maybe we'll get something that'll accomodate the behemoth that is the Crane Truck!

Maybe we'll get something that'll accomodate the behemoth that is the Crane Truck! Hmmm, maybe but I doubt it. Lego has used the same plates forever. The only thing they do is just change the look of the road and the color of the plate. I don't think they will change the road plates for just a few sets.

Yeah, but they've changed the width of the road several times over the years.
Vader Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I would be very surprised if they did change the road plates but i would welcome it.

jindroush Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Uhm, what? The width of the road (and the numbers of studs on sides) has changed multiple times.
The Middleman Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 http://www.bricklink.com/PL/607p01.gif http://www.bricklink.com/PL/44336pb01.jpg QED.
Wolf04 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Woah? Nine studs on each side wide. That's a lot of room for buildings compared to 6 on the new ones. I wish LEGO made more sizes of road plates. Like the ones that are available now could be small rural roads and then they could use the large grey one size for making highways, 4 lanes instead of 2!!! That would be cool. :)
Orlego Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I'm sorry if I'm wrong but none of mine are like that. My road plates range from the 80's to today and they all have the same amount of studs on each side, the lines and colors of the plates are all different.
Vader Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Mine are the same as yours orlego, i remember when lego gave us the ones with 2 studs either side i didnt like them but it made the roads alot wider.
Orlego Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 It would be nice if Lego made a one lane driveway style plate that would fit some of the new sets such as the new fire station. A regular road (with the road the same width as current plates) plate without any studs would be great to make bridges. Right now I have to cut the studs off the plate. ;)
Vader Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Butcher you wont ever catch me cutting pieces up ;) ;) :-D
Orlego Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Butcher you wont ever catch me cutting pieces up ;) ;) :-D Ha ha ha. Never minifigs, that would be a sin. I just cut the road plates to make bridges without an emergency lane.
Vader Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 :-D ive never cut up a fig but i have cut other pieces in the past :)
