WesternOutlaw Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 On top of Hang Man's Hill rests a quiet little church known as Shadow Chapel. Pastor William D. Grimstone presides over his small congregation of the sinners of Grave Stone. Pastor Grimstone appears as a mild tempered gentleman who always wears a white hankerchief and is willing to lend a hand and a dollar to those in need. The only thing that he asks is for a short visit to his chapel and a single favor to his parish, "once you get back on your feet", he always adds with a gentle grin. But Pastor Grimstone hides a dark side. Many mysteries surround Shadow Chapel especially the rumor of the night that the good pastor and his flock went after Tex Grimwell, the old miner. Supposedly, they dragged him from his bed up to Hang Man's Hill and hung him in cold blood. Tex was never seen again and some even say that his spirit haunts Grave Stone. Jeb Snotworth and Harold Axewood are the newests members of Pastor Grimstone's congregation. Some say they are quite spiritual as they visit Shadow Chapel frequently. *skull* Quote
Khorne Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I think this is your best Grave Stone MOC up to date. Why? Just because I am a sucker for MOCs of churches and chapels :-) . Keep up the good work *y* . Quote
Brick Miner Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 in terms of the construction, this is a good MOC in the Grave Stone line-up. probably my second fav, due to the overall appealing shape of the building... however, in terms of story, this one is a little weaker than the rest. i guess im just having a problem believing the Engineer Max face has a daker side ;-) - BrickMiner Quote

I always thought that guy was hiding something. Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Yeah, perhaps a KKII Rascus face would be better in place here. I always thought that guy was hiding something. Lol, yea that guy does look somewhat... mysterious. 8- Quote
JoeMI6 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Another fantabulous MOC here. Keep up the amazing work. Quote
Hinckley Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Another fantabulous MOC here. Keep up the amazing work. This is my favorite of your series. It's fantastic! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Thanks for your comments. In regard to the Engineer Max face, I was looking for a face that had a beard, but not from the WW collection. KK or Castle may have provided a better face, but I didn't mind the good Pastor having a "train background" at all. Adds character. Perhaps Pastor Grimstone is nothing more than a train hopper that found his way to Grave Stone ;-) . Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 There's no cemetry! Where's the cemetry? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Actually, it is. I was considering making one (much different than the HP Graveyard), but not sure. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I too, think this is the best of the series so far. I like the simple structure of it, and I like the various black parts on it (like the arch over the doorway) I also like the use of trumpets on the top part. I do have to agree that on the engineer max face though, I think he looks a bit too happy. ;-) BTW, Brickter. I really like the picture you used for your sig, but do you think you could shrink it a little? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 BTW, Brickter. I really like the picture you used for your sig, but do you think you could shrink it a little? Ya, it is a little large isn't it? Let me see what I can do, to not loose too much resolution by shrinking. OK, that's not too bad now, is it. Quite a bit smaller and I still think it looks fairly viewable. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks, that's much better. :-) Before it wasn't that bad, but I found it could get a little distracting while reading various topics. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 I agree, even when I was going back through the messages, I noticed. No problem. ;-) Quote

Dang! Now its too small! I can see any of the finer details! As for the Shadow Chapel, is there going to be more pictures or is this it? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 I wasn't planning on providing anymore images, unless you really want to see the MOC from different angles. Dang! Now its too small! I can see any of the finer details! Can't make everyone happy ;-) Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Maybe Brickster could make it a link to a bigger version of it, so then when you want to see more details, you can just click it. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 You can always click my link to get a list of the Grave Stone Collection and see a single larger picture of any of the MOCs. Quote
