Kahgarak Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I found it at HCC Amsterdam Brickfactory, in the theme Space Port. It's set number 6457. Quote
snefroe Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 yes we do remember this one... it even used to be an official set in the catalogue, however, our City Mayor will tell you it's an old 'City' theme, not space... Quote
TaltosVT Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 If I remember correctly, this fig came out just after, or at least around the same time, as the first untethered space walk from a space shuttle happened. -Elroy Quote
Kahgarak Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 I tried to copy its design with my own parts, and it's a pretty awesome jetpack. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I have that set. Think I picked it up for 1 Euro with some other small sets. A pretty neat set indeed. Quote
Kahgarak Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 I have that set. Think I picked it up for 1 Euro with some other small sets. A pretty neat set indeed. Where and when did you get it? Quote
KMOI Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I got it too. I can't remember the exact details, but I picked it up on sale at Toys R Us way back when Space Port was in the middle of its run. Really fun "set"! Quote
Captain Roger Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 i remember it....it was released in 1995 if i have a good memory Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 5, 2006 Governor Posted December 5, 2006 Check out Brickset it even used to be an official set in the catalogue, however, our City Mayor will tell you it's an old 'City' theme, not space... Brickset seems to agree with the City Mayor... i remember it....it was released in 1995 if i have a good memory No you don't. It was released in 1999. Quote
snefroe Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Check out BricksetBrickset seems to agree with the City Mayor... No you don't. It was released in 1999. nono it's space port. the guy even has a space port logo on his torso. it wouldn't be the first time that these online databases turn out to be wrong... |-/ but it is from 1999 Quote
Captain Roger Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 well. Then TLC released a space minifig in city theme in 1995, but is a different minifig, isn't it? Quote
snefroe Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 well. Then TLC released a space minifig in city theme in 1995, but is a different minifig, isn't it? they release spaceport in 1995. they had this astronaut in a buggy. maybe that's what you have in mind... i guess the helmet's different, that's all Quote
Hobbes Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 nono it's space port. the guy even has a space port logo on his torso. it wouldn't be the first time that these online databases turn out to be wrong... |-/ but it is from 1999 I indeed would call it a subtheme of Town, simply because it is, every online database agrees with that :-P But if your pride feels insulted you could see it as a "link theme" between Town and Space ;-) Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Where and when did you get it? Well, my reaction may be a bit late but anyway. I think I picked it on a holiday in Spain in 2000 I think. Not too sure about that, but I'm sure they don't carry it anymore. Shouldn't be that pricey on Bricklink (not like it had rare pieces or anything so you could just build one yourself) Quote
