If I remember correctly, this fig came out just after, or at least around the same time, as the first untethered space walk from a space shuttle happened.

I have that set. Think I picked it up for 1 Euro with some other small sets. A pretty neat set indeed.

Where and when did you get it?

I got it too. I can't remember the exact details, but I picked it up on sale at Toys R Us way back when Space Port was in the middle of its run. Really fun "set"!

Check out Brickset

it even used to be an official set in the catalogue, however, our City Mayor will tell you it's an old 'City' theme, not space...

Brickset seems to agree with the City Mayor...

i remember it....it was released in 1995 if i have a good memory

No you don't. It was released in 1999.

nono it's space port. the guy even has a space port logo on his torso. it wouldn't be the first time that these online databases turn out to be wrong... |-/ but it is from 1999

well. Then TLC released a space minifig in city theme in 1995, but is a different minifig, isn't it?

they release spaceport in 1995. they had this astronaut in a buggy. maybe that's what you have in mind... i guess the helmet's different, that's all

I indeed would call it a subtheme of Town, simply because it is, every online database agrees with that :-P

But if your pride feels insulted you could see it as a "link theme" between Town and Space ;-)

Well, my reaction may be a bit late but anyway. I think I picked it on a holiday in Spain in 2000 I think. Not too sure about that, but I'm sure they don't carry it anymore.

Shouldn't be that pricey on Bricklink (not like it had rare pieces or anything so you could just build one yourself)
