Burf2000 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 So here is a quick video review of the Mindsensors.com RCX Mutliplexer. I used a Dell Streak (Android) to control the NXT running RobotC 2.02. The Android code was based off the NXT Remote project (NXT Remote Control) however instead of using the Direct Messaging which would not work for the RCX multiplexer, I have been able to send commands to MessageParam in RobotC. Code and more info will be on my blog soon (Burf Technic Blog) Quote
basbase Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Nice video, I like the spoken commentary, you don't see that very often when it comes to Lego videos. I presume the Android device is connected to the NXT via bluetooth? Keep up the hi-tech stuff! Quote
Burf2000 Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks mate! I keep doing it if people like it. Yes it is connected via BT. Quote
Smrgol Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Thats pretty cool, how tall is the robot and do you have any plans to do more beyond the head and arms/claws? i.e. does it move? Quote
Burf2000 Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Thats pretty cool, how tall is the robot and do you have any plans to do more beyond the head and arms/claws? i.e. does it move? This is going to stay pretty simple as I have a couple of large robots to build and when I mean large I mean over 6 foot! Here I what the robot looks like on its base which is being bug fixed lol It's probably just over 3ft tall. Mainly created as I wanted to build a big wheel robot. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Man, that's so cool. I wish I knew how to do all that programming stuff. Quote
timslegos Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Wow that is cool. How does the robot balance on 2 wheels? Does it balance similarly to a Segway? tim Quote
Burf2000 Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Wow that is cool. How does the robot balance on 2 wheels? Does it balance similarly to a Segway? tim It has some small guide wheels behind the main wheels at the back So that it cant flip over when moving forward. I need to improve the balance if it so it can go backwards. Quote
