IMPORTANT!!!

The link to the pirate forum is NO LONGER www.eurobricks.com/pirates

(The above link is obsolete)

The new link is: pirates.eurobricks.com

Promotional Images

Those who have uploaded promotional images to their Brickshelf folders should first delete them, then upload one or both of the below images. It is recommend you update one Brickshelf folder every couple of days so as not to flood Brickshelf with the promotional image.

I realise this may be an incovenience however this is beyond my control, but we don't want a potential new user going to the wrong place, do we?

Hi Mr Phes. Whats the different between the first pic and the old one?` cant see any different??

Greetings Tordenskjold

For some reason its reverted back to the old image. I don't have time to fix now so I'll just disable it for the time being.

Ok, I've fixed the advertisement. You'll notice that it now reads the new link pirates.eurobricks.com

Huzzah, pirates will no longer be predominated by eurobricks! :-P

Actually, that isn't true. Nothing has changed really because its only a shortcut to the forum, not an entirely new website. Advertising the web address pirates.eurobricks.com looks a lot nicer than the true Pirate forum web address http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=56

A new Front Page system was implemented and for some reason this version of the Invasion Powerboard is in frames which redirect all links to the forum to the main Eurobricks Forum. I don't really understand how this works or why it does this, but that's the best explaination I can give.

Instead Jipay used a sub-domain hence why "pirates" is at the start of the address. pirates.eurobricks.com is a better address for the forum anyway, but the problem is we've got to update all our advertising and that could take a long long time.

I am Mr Tiber! However I also wrote in the FIRST post "It is recommend you update one Brickshelf folder every couple of days so as not to flood Brickshelf with the promotional image."

Actually, I've been doing 3 or 4 a day. However I have many Brickshelf folders so its taking time.

Have you updated yours yet, Mr Tiber?

Like I said, one or two a day is fine because we don't want to flood Brickshelf with them for you see the thumbnail will appear in the "Recent Folders" pages after the folder is moderated and don't want to annoy people with too many of them.

However, this can be avoided so long as the file name (like the blue add does) does start with "0000" which puts the image first alphanumerically in the Brickshelf folder. The first image by default becomes the thumbnail of the folder which everyone sees from the "Recent Folders" page.

I like to keep a mix of the two to keep things varied, so its just a matter of renaming the file accordingly.

You are confusing me. ^^ *wacko* .

How are you confused? If everyone updated all the promotional images in all their Brickshelf folders at once what would happen is all the updated folders would appear as thumbnails in the "Recent" folders page(s).

Does that make sense?

That's a wonder because I don't think I explained it very well. However, what I'm not taking into account not every Brickshelf Folder that has a promotional image uses it for that folder's thumbnail image. So perhaps it didn't matter as much as I originally anticipated.
