Murdoch17 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 This ship was built by me in summer 2011. I designed it off the Titanic, but I wanted an diffrent name. I didn't want a sticker, so my search lead me to buy Bricklink tiles with the Harry Potter town name on it. I then made up a fictional history for it. Here is that fictional history with pictures. "Built by the Red Star Line & Hartford & Wolfe from 1919 to 1921, the RMS Hogsmeade can carry 2,140 passengers and 1,100 crew. Her 24 steam boilers were made by Ogel & Co. and are able to give the three propellers enough power to get the ship up to 28.5 Knots or almost 33 Miles per Hour. The ship sailed for it's maiden voyage under Captain Edger Hanley from Ironwood in the LEGO Empire. It's journey began on August 15th, 1921 and was uneventful for almost the entire trip, until a week later, on the 23rd, when the 2nd screw (propeller) was thrown, causing a 20 foot gash near the rudder. The ship was towed the remaining 11 miles into the harbor. The passengers disembarked and the ship was sent to dry dock for 7 weeks of repairs. The ships career was relatively uneventful for 52 more years, until 1973 the when it was time for it to be sent to the scrapper's torch. Luckily, the city of Ironwood saved the ship, and moored it to Pier 13 as a floating nautical museum alongside a reproduction of the HMS Executor, a reproduction of a 18th century sailing ship. The museum lasted until 1998, when the city decided to take away the museum and create a cruise ship. The entire 3rd class was removed and replaced by tourist quarters. The ship began it's new life in 1999 and started off by ringing in the new millennium in the middle of the Atlantic. The ship currently (Winter 2011) is in dry dock for a hull inspection."
