SNIPE Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) Hi, after all my life having lego in a huge box i will not be putting them into chests with small drawers, At the minute i have two 45 drawer and 1 20 drawer chest and a carry case with small portions to organise things This is good for half of my technic collection, the lego system is still full to the brim of a 2x1.8 x1.2 foot box, i also have mindstorms 2.0, technic racers enzo, f1 and 599 models that need to be put in the storage too. Some drawers will need to be bigger thsn others, for example all of the 2x2 and 2x4 system bricks need big drawers I am not sure what storge cabinets to get in the uk. pics should be in this post before 24 hours. roamingstop Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Probably not the right place for the post; but I will service a quick solution from our friends - Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_4_13?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=plastic+storage+drawers&x=0&y=0&sprefix=plastic+stora Most of my bricks are in versions of this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plastic-Drawer-Unit-Shallow-Drawers/dp/B002R1MNE6/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1322385025&sr=8-9 Which (in Switzerland at least) could be disassembled and combined to make drawers 8 high. Draper obviously make expensive things; but a trip to www.farnell.co.uk and / or RS Electronics will also show many plastic storage options for cheap. Finally - does B&Q still exist? Quote
allanp Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I don't have much room, not enough for a desk with lots of little drawers, so I have about 20 of these things: http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=11247811&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB/categories%3C{9372015}/categories%3C{9372043}/categories%3C{9372178}/categories%3C{9392071}/specificationsProductType=organisers The little drawers would be better, but if you don't have the room, these are great. Hi, These Things are very nice. I use a box with 4 Organisers. The inlays have a different size. You found in all Organiser the same numbers of boxes. The size is from small one for pins etc. to bigger one for Liftarms and long axle. You can find in Google with the Search "Raaco Handy Box". This System can hang on the wall or stack side by side or you can one on top of each other. Sorry if my English writing is not correct, i hope its not upstruse. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Jori Welcome to the forum Here is the box that you were on about ,£39.99 + £4.95 shipping on Amazon uk. Amazon Quote

timslegos Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I organized my Legos in containers with customizable squares similar to a above poster, and they work really well! tim Quote
Moz Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I've got photos of my setup online, it's basically tackle boxes and shelving, with the desk covered in a wooden version of the old Lego box-with-compartments: http://moz.net.nz/lego/storage.php I do that because I enjoy working with wood, and I prefer the slightly rounded edges I can put on the 3mm ply over having even more sharp-edged plastic. Also I can customise the sizes to exactly fit things like axles (there's two rows of axle bins, in order of size). Quote
