WD Pro Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Well I had started the following three threads : -------------------- Lego Air Horn : Hi, First post so please go easy on me ... Did Logo ever do a whistle / air horn that could be connected to and powered by the pneumatics (with the use of an air tank) ? I have a mog (can’t open it until Christmas !) and it would make for a nice addition Cheers, WD From here : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61871 -------------------- Black Wheels : I am looking for the standard mog wheels but in black I have seen the part number posted on here but I can’t find them on pick a brick. Please bear in mind that pick a brick doesn’t seem to work very well from my (work) PC and I only have phone access at home Could someone be so kind as post me a direct link ? Cheers, WD From here : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61873 -------------------- Mounting Air Tank : As per title – pictures would be really appreciated ! Cheers, WD From here : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61872 -------------------- I got advised to put them in one – so, moving along : My brief Lego history : Very old (yellow ?) castle, knights with stickers. Space – Simple / original mini figures era in red and white only. Newer grey castle (with printed bricks), red / blue and blue / black printed mini figures. Small black boat with two piece hull (1 keel) Large red (fire ?) boat with three (four ?) piece hull (multiple keels) Technic – Car chassis (8860) Technic – Kart (854 or 948, what’s the difference ?) Technic – Pneumatic (8040) all given away to my brother who continued to build and now passed to his kids … I have recently got back into Lego (Having a two year old and living close to a discovery center helps ) and the other half has bought me a mog for Christmas ! I can’t have it yet but have started to accumulate parts for the mods … My next question is about air tank fitting. Has anyone fitted an air tank using only one pipe ? i.e. rather than putting it in series with a pipe, using a T piece and only feeding one end of the tank (blanking the other). It would make for a neater installation and I can’t see any issues ? Machine accumulators are fitted in the same way. What do you think ? Cheers, WD Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I don't have the unimog yet but what you are trying to do will work ok, as long as each end is sealed it's ok. Quote

WD Pro Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Mines in the house, 'hidden' with the rest of the crimbo stuff (i.e. sent to santa) - I can see it but I can't touch it ... WD Quote

zewy623 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hey, for whoever has the mog, ive seen a video for the motorization of it to make it RC, and they put a motor on the driveshaft (i dont know what its called, but its the column of gears above the center differential) and i thought the whole thing was for the turning, but it connects to both how the mog turns and to the mog's center differential... i dont know how that works, im not in mechanics (well not yet, i might get into classes next year) and im just now getting into technic, i already have everything on order for me to make it RC ( and with pneumatic air tanks, but thats on another thread, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61872&st=0&gopid=1116405entry1116405 ) so how does it work??? Jim Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) Hi Welcome, Not really sure whether this question has been answered, but you are probably better off buying parts via BrickLink.com. You can find almost EVERY part in existence and most of the stores will deliver in a couple of days. I have ordered parts from Canada (I live in The Netherlands) which arrived in a few days. Here are the black rims: http://www.bricklink...7880&colorID=11 They definitely look awesome on the Unimog tyres. Wow, I just noticed these rims are getting pretty rare. Wasn't aware of that. This is probably your best option: http://www.bricklink...itemID=27565581 Or find yourself one of these models: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=44772&in=S Although it's not a very interesting model (imho), this might be a good alternative: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Racers-8146-Nitro-Muscle/dp/B000NZGU92/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321017837&sr=8-1 Gives you the four rims and two large tyres (which are pretty rare too). And of course some additional parts. Btw, via Pick a Brick only parts which are still in production can be ordered, so your options are limited. Edited November 11, 2011 by Gekke Ted Quote

DLuders Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 @ zewy623: Bricklink works great! On their Help Center webpage, there are answers to many of your questions. Most Bricklink stores accept Paypal or even cash. Try it -- you'll like it! Quote
zewy623 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 @DLuders thanks, i really havent explored the site, ive only used the site to see what parts are in other sets (like if i need a replacement i search that set number, find the part, and see if any sets that i have had that part) and theres bricklink stores??? i need to get out more i guess :l Quote

Do you know how eBay works? It is very similar to eBay. Each "store" is a different seller. Each seller can have numerous parts in his store. Each store has different shipping policies and minimum store purchase amount. when you submit an order through a store, a store owner sends you an invoice for the order through email. Since i always use PayPal, the store owner gives the PayPal address for you to send the money to. hope this helps! tim Quote
zewy623 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 @timr oh ok... like ebay direct buy, kinda... right? Quote

zewy623 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 ok so lets say im going to build the snow plow for the unimog using other peices, should i get the pneumatic tubing from lego (using the missing piece thing from customer service) or run the risk on bricklink of getting old tubing (where it had to be cut) i dont know what to do, i know that sometimes on lego replacement parts can get a little pricey sometimes... what do i do? Alasdair Ryan Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Buy the hose here: Blokbricks For liftarms ,pins,axles... Bricklink Job lots ebay (but keep an eye out for some good deals on parts and pieces) Lego / lego customer service for those new parts and the power functions stuff is cheaper there as well. Hope this helps you. Edited November 12, 2011 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
WD Pro Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 I live in the UK and for £15 I got a (new) pneumatic part set posted from the states that included a manual pump, air tank, valve, T pieces and a selection of the three tubing colours I got it of eBay, I can find you a link if you want ? zewy623 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 and how do you make it RC? i know how to make the turning rc, but i dont know where to put a motor for the drive, the only place i can find is the back axel on the gear that turns the differintial, but i dont know if there is enough room, and should i use a m motor or xl motor for the steering and drive? WD Pro Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 That's the method I plan, I already have the parts I prefer the steering method on here though (with the clutch) - no parts for that yet though. Which control is best for the mog ? Do any self center for the steering ? I get the feeling that the one with the dials is best for the drive motor but the simple control is better for the steering ? zewy623 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 @ davidmull, ok i get the stering part of it, but how does the drive work considering its connected to a set of gears that are normal and clutch, the stering, and the center differential... i dont understand, if you have the unimog and dont mind taking it apart, can you show me how that would work??? i am so confused on this.
