Hobbes Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Hobbes: if you had a set or two, you might have given the theme a 5. Not sure if I can change your mind (without you having any sets), but let me know if these posts, MOCs, and reviews help *sweet* . Well, I checked the sets on LUGNET. I even found the guy I bought back then, it was 3019. I must admit, the product pics look awesome. Had I checked that before voting I might have voted differently. Then again, product pics are always different than the sets look IRL ;-) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 To be honest with you, I never liked any of the flying Ninjas. I've got two of them from larger sets and don't even bother building them. Quote
zouave Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I think they should bring back the ninja theme. It had great minifigs and accesories.Plus the buildings for some reason look easy to build.[besides it has good potential for a video game.i almost hired a computer/ninja freak to make a lego ninja game] Quote
Norrington Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Was that bump really needed? If you keep the habit of only ressurecting threads, you might be banned. Sorry if this sounds mean, but just a friendly reminder. Quote

I try not to bump old threads (unless by accident), but is it really wrong? - esp. if someone has an opinion or would like to add to an old discussion? Quote
Brick Miner Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Was that bump really needed? If you keep the habit of only ressurecting threads, you might be banned. Sorry if this sounds mean, but just a friendly reminder.resurrecting a thread is fine in my opinion, especially if the thread existed before the member joined, and they have something to add to the discussion... which i think zouave did fine."bumping" a thread is something entirely different... an example of this would be someone trying to get his/her MOC thread back on the main page of the forum for the sake of more exposure. especially when its current discussion is clearly over. and besides, the ninja theme could use more discussion !!! im sure a lot of the newer members missed this thread the first time around ;-) also, the opinion poll "which is better castle or pirates" thread in the pirate from has been resurrected many times... this thread could be considered in a similar manner ??? - BM Quote
Piranha Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 :-D Hehe funny thing I thought about asking that same question but instead Which culture theme would you like to see? I would have included ninja's in the asian section Love the ninja theme Piranha Quote
Wobo Ihi Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Above average. Ninjas... samurais... the minifigs were awesome. I've only got the 6083 and the 4805 (why won't TLC make minifig packs anymore?). I never understood the Ninja hangliders though. X-D Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 The minifigs is one of the best ever made. *wub* They made new helmets, armor and swords just for that theme! :'-) I just love those katanas, but they could have been shorter.. :-) Quote
Turaga of Force Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 A lot, I voted 5. I only have a few minifigs, but it was awesome. I wish they made blue Ninjas... :D Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I *wub* this themes ever!!!!!!! It was a clasic! Quote
TheFrisian Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 The minifigs is one of the best ever made. *wub* They made new helmets, armor and swords just for that theme! :'-) I just love those katanas, but they could have been shorter.. :-) The armour and swords is what I liked best too. Shorter swords would've been nice in addition to the longer katanas. Great overall theme, which TLC should redo sometime in the near future. Just think about it, metallic coloured weaponry and armour, with printed decorations. I do however agree with SW4J that ninjas and samurai usually don't mix together, they should be on opposing teams. Quote
Vader Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Late to this one, i have to say it was a good line far better than alot of it's time. Some nice cheap set's with great parts to go with them, i bought a few and was very impressed by what i got. Missed out on the white ninja though which is a shame as that was a nice fig. Quote
iamded Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) I love the ninja theme, although I only got my hands on one. :'-( It's so awesome, I'm quite the fan of ninjas, I did my school speech on them. They're just so awesome, and Lego ninjae are no exception! *wub* ~Peace Edited October 9, 2007 by iamded Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 6, 2007 Governor Posted October 6, 2007 I rated it 4! But first of all I shall mention that I do not own a single Ninja set so my assessment is not very throughout. Looking at the pictures from box art and catalogues the Ninja theme appears to be the last decent SYSTEM theme (Ok, so Orient Expedition wasn't that bad but isn't that technically a continuation of Adventurers?). Quote
blueandwhite Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Honestly, it's a good theme. My biggest problem of course is that it simply isn't possible to collect each and every theme (without breaking the bank). By the time Ninja came out, I had already dedicated myself exclusively to the castle (by castle, I mean European castle) line. In fact, I had already dropped Space, Town, and Pirates in order to focus exclusively on a single interest. Unfortunately, LEGO basically abandoned the castle line at that point and I entered a dark ages for about 6 years. These days, with so many themes available, it becomes hard to create a cohesive collection of bricks (ie, minifigs/parts that are suitable for a specific purpose). We see themes like Vikings come and go, making the opportunity to amass a large collection of these fellas difficult. Moreover, variety suffers. Both the Viking and Ninja lines suffer from a limited selection of figs (though Star Wars Jedi torsos can overcome that somewhat). I miss the good ol' days when there were only a few themes. At least you could be certain that the theme would still be around in the future. Now only Town has that priviledge. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 (edited) I really would like a comeback of the Ninja theme! It was a great theme with amazing minifigs and very nice castles *wub* . It was a very special theme which was/is totally different to the "normal" Castle theme. There were big and little sets, good and bad Ninjas and a huge variety of different types of sets (e. g. not only castes but even a little ship, a treasure transport, a little cave and a guarded bridge) - so for everybody something interesting I'd say. I mainly liked/like the nice minifig constellation and the great architecture of the buildings. What I missed in this theme was/is that there wasn't a castle for the Ninja king that included his throne, I missed some civilians and some female minifigs. But otherwise it was a great theme! Opproperaar Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I remember going through the LEGO catalogue and viewing the wonderful Ninja sets. I can still feel the desire to one day build a ninja fortress or buddhist/shinto temple. Those who like the town theme could then again use it as an expansion for their own China-town which every self-respecting city deserves. You could even use it in the pirates line. The Dutch VOC traders in Japan for example. Or the English tea/opium trade with China. Overall a very flexible theme with wonderful sets, minifigs and weapons. *y* However, because I've sadly never owned any of the sets :-( I can't actually verdict the theme based on actual physical experience. When the theme came out I was too caught up with other themes (all of them quite expensive) to really see the potential of this theme. That's why I've been careful and gave it a 4, just in case (though I highly doubt it) I would one day own a set and dislike it. Quote
WhiteFang Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I voted for a "5" Ninjas and Samurials were my favourite mini-figs. They have oriental looks, katanas, cool ninja-hoods, helmets, everything about them is so perfect. Ninja theme is an unique theme on its own and is defintely able to stand out on its own. How i wish LEGO, will re-release Ninja sets again such as Emperor Stronghold and Flying Ninja Fortress X-D Quote
captaintau Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I voted for a "5" Ninjas and Samurials The plural for Ninja is "Ninja" and the plural for Samurai is "Samurai". Not getting at you personally, whitefang, lots of people make this mistake (including me until recently) Quote

kill will Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 (edited) I *wub* *wub* Loove Ninja and the lego ones rule! I've played with them a few times and they rock! I don't own any though :'-( I HATE it when lego dicontinues a theme like that. >:-( *n* *skull* >:-( *n* As you can see, I'm really emotional when it comes to the fact lego dicontinues everything especially ninja. :'-( Edited March 7, 2008 by kill will Quote
Brickmaster Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I grew up on the ninja theme, I have the big fortress and everything, opened up awesome new minifigures, and the ever popular ninja scarf.. thing, and oh, the katanas.. :-$ To me they were a definate hit. Would love some revamped ones. Quote
Plural Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Ah, the Ninja theme, how I loved thee. A great theme that I remeber from being younger. But alas I never had the big fortress although I always looked at it longingly in the shops. Quote
KingUndertheMountain Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I gave it a four only because I only got one or two sets from that line. If I had gotten more it would probably have been a five. I love the ninjas I have and wish I had more. I don't know how well the buildings were constructed, but they looked great. Quote
