gmshades Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Hello fellow AFOL's Just thought I would share a MOC I have been working on. It shares instructions from 8285, 8258, and 8421. Lego Technic 8285 Tow Truck: Sleeper, cab, hood, boom, front frame Lego Technic 8258 Crane Truck: Gearbox, rear axles, rear frame Lego Technic 8421 Mobile Crane: Stabilizers There were many challenges along the way. First, the bottom "frame" of the 8285 and 8258 are on a different plane. Turning the gearbox around so that the crane would come from the backside instead of in front. Also routing axles to operate all the stabilizers. There were a few other things, but these were the major problems I ran into. On with the pictures: Features include: HOG Steering, manual forward/reverse with working pistons. Power Functions: Switch from Air pump (raise/lower main and secondary.) or gearbox (Stabilizers, Boom rotation, raise/lower, and extend.) Any comments or questions welcome.
