The Queen of England

When I saw the Bloviator by Legeaux, I was surprised how small the mortars on his ship were. I thought that the mortars used to be huge, bulky siege engines, like in Age of Empires 3 (see image below), so I developed my own mortar, called 'The Queen of England'. It features a turnable gun barrel and a non-accurate pedestal (and that's about it :-P ). It's not that special, but let's move on to the pics nonetheless ;-) .

I don't really know the range of such a weapon, but it's probably quite a distance :-P . I should try to look it up.

I think that their accuracy wasn't very precise, but due to their highly destructive shells, they were still very effective versus fortresses and the morale of the enemies guarding those fortresses.

It's a nifty little thing to incorrporate into an imperial moc *y*. The ratating mechinism looks good too.

Lol. I too, was expecting to see a minifig MOC of the Queen of England. :-P

That's very nice mortar you've made. The use of those corner pieces was a very good idea, and makes it look like a real mortar. :-) The only thing I don't really like is the 2x8 dark grey plate going across the front. I think it would look better if you somehow moved it down and in so it doesn't stick out quite as much (kind of like the civil war mortar that 007 posted) or remove it completely.

first of all, cool mortar, would be neat to see a squad of these things... and when you find out the real range... try converting it into lego scale measurements and then studs! :P j/k though that would be cool lol.

as for the obsessed with AOE guy....i wish he had a better camera... the battle was pretty cool though.

I wish to know the differents between a English motoar and a motoar from outside of England. This description in the thread says it is an English motoar which is why I have become wondering about it.

As far as I know, there is no real difference. Mine is called an English moratar because he's used by the English ;-) . BTW, I haven't found the real range, it's really difficult to find :-/ .

It looks like its snow come to think of it... I didn't really pay much attention until you pointed that out Mr Imperial Scouts.

I kind of see crisscros paterns, so i doubt it is snow, plus I think the figs and things would have a hard time standing on snow.

As for your Hoth Sets...

If you removed the base plate or pushed them further into the snow that might work better. But that discussion is probably best left for another thread in a different forum.

What font was used for the text bubbles? It looks like Comic Sans and it seems to work very well for spoken words, which come to think of it makes sense since its got "Comic" in the name...

Yeah, it's Comic Sans. I find it's one of the cooler standard fonts. It does make sense that it has Comic in it's name, now you only need to figure out why Sans is in there... :-P
