Hello Eurobricks.

My name is Bas and I'm a 24 year old ICT student from the Netherlands. I'd like to share my latest project with you. It's a WiFi controlled Lego robot with an onboard camera. With it I can drive around in my house (or any other place with WiFi) from anywhere on the world while sitting behind my laptop. It uses an Arduino with a WiFi shield to translate the WiFi signal to the Power Functions IR protocol. A stripped wireless IP camera takes care of the video stream.

More info like schematics, photos and source codes can be found on my website: http://brickbot.net/projects/wifi-lego-camera-robot

Very nice! Well done. Always cool to see some NXT/Mindstorms projects!

I love your simplified 3D renders! Google Sketchup?

Thanks Ted. Actually this robot does not use NXT/Mindstorms at all. I used an Arduino for the control unit as it is a lot cheaper than NXT. Also it allows me to use WiFi, which has a lot more range than bluetooth.

The 3D renders are indeed done with Google Sketchup.
