Hi all,

Recently I have been trying to find the building instructions for the Alpha Rex 2.0 (set 8547). After a while I figured out they are in the NXT-G software, in the Robo Center. However, after installing the software, I only see the Robot Educator, not the Robo Center.

How can I get the Robo Center up and running in the software? Any help would be appreciated.

(of course, a link to a PDF would also suffice, but I am not sure whether a PDF exists at all)

Edit:

Is it possible that I have an Educational version of the NXT-G 2.0 software?

If so, any chance someone can send me link to get the normal NXT-G 2.0 software?

Regards,

Ted

I have installed the retail version of the NXT-G 2.0 software, which does contain the Robo Center and thus the instructions.

Sorry for the trouble.

The Alpha Rex 2.0 instructions are not available via the Lego website. They only offer the default printed instructions (for the starter bot) which come with the set. Thanks though.

Yes they are, but not form the customerservice part.

go to the product tab in main screen (lego.com) select mindstorms, then products again followed by selecting the nxt 2.0 tab in there.

The animation of the different models morphing from one to the other is shown. There are four buttons shown at the top of the animation, the most right gives acces to the different building instructions, and programs.

Hope this helps you out.

Hi Jan,

This only shows the instructions for the Bonus Models, not the Alpha Rex and other "main models".

Take a look:

It seems the only way is installing the NXT-G 2.0 software.

Thanks for the reply though.

check this link http://mindstorms.le...lpha%20Rex.aspx, maybe it has to do with the region you choose.

That's the old Alpha Rex, the 1.0 version of set 8527. I was looking for Alpha Rex 2.0 in set 8547 (updated NXT 2.0 version).

When you look at the menu options left, you see that there's only an option for the Bonus Models for 8547, the other items are all for the 8527 model.

It can be confusing, I know default_wacko.gif

If you install the Lego Digital Designer (LDD) software, you can use the LDD .lxf file provided on this April 2011 Eurobricks post to build the Alpha Rex 2.0 model.

Thanks for the tip. In my search on the net I have stumpled upon this image and your suggestion. It's a pretty decent workaround!!

Although I can't stop wondering that you have to go through a lot of trouble building this little fellow. Anyhow, if you have bought the original set, you should have the NXT-G software available, so it wouldn't pose an actual problem.

I will install the LDD software and check it out, just for the fun of it. Thanks again.
