Wolf04 Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Wazzzzzzup y'all, found this on a certain *cough*crappy*cough* Biological Chronicle theme (as found on www.dictionary.com) aka Bionicle: "A little Christmas present to BZP ... In a few weeks, when the January LEGO BrickMaster magazine arrives, readers will find a new BIONICLE contest in it (no, I can't reveal the specifics of that, since it would give BZP members an unfair advantage). The grand prize will involve the winner's creation getting into one of next year's novels, and two of the five "mystery" sets: The Battle of Metru Nui Toa Iruini (Toa Iruini is the prize for first-place winners) Battle of Metru Nui is our first attempt to do playtheme-style sets for BIONICLE, and features mini Toa Hordika and Visorak, a larger Kahgarak (different from the one you can build with the Visorak sets) and lots of features and functions. It's a great set on its own, and can be combined with the other two playtheme sets to do a big battle scene. (More on those later next year.) Unfortunately, the set isn't pictured on the contest page, but once we are into January, I will do my best to answer questions about its contents so entrants have an idea of what they are getting. Happy holidays! Greg" From www.bzpower.com --------------------------- I think that's a neat idea. If it has minifigs with different parts of the city with terrains and castles, it might look cool. Can't wait for at least a sneak preview picture. :-D By the way, I'm NOT a Bionicle fan but may become one if these playsets will come out and actually look good.
jonfett Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Hmm.. I would expect these mini bionicle figures to be modled pieces, or maybe something like the super battle droid. I cannot think what the playsets will look like and I doubt I will get them anyway, as I don't really like bioncile either. Jon.
ApophisV Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 At least this sounds more interesting to me than the normal Bionicle theme... And think about this: Minifig sized Bionicles could make some great droids.... For sure they'll use pieces like droid arms and such stuff....
Wolf04 Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 Wazzzzzzz up again.....more hints at future sets: "The mini Toa Hordika will not be mini-figures like you are used to, with bendable arms and legs and big grins on their faces (thank goodness). I will try to see if I can find an image someplace. The set is a Coliseum wall with a huge Toa mask as a gateway, and catapults and web lines and the Kahgarak defending it against the Toa Hordika who are trying to get inside to save the Matoran. One of the other playsets will be in BIONICLE Adventures #8 next year (so see if you can spot it!) Quite apart from this, I have to say that the quality of the LEGO playtheme sets next year is night and day from what we have done in the past. There is a Knights set that is just gorgeous ... some stuff for a new summer line that is just mind-blowing .. the Star Wars stuff is great, as usual ... and some of the Harry Potter sets are so cool that I want them for my house. The designers really outdid themselves." ---------------------------------------------------- I'm pretty sure the Knight's Kingdom set is Lord Vladek's castle that we've seen earlier. I 'm very interested in the Harry Potter sets though. Houses??? Need to see sets!!!
ApophisV Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Wow.... I'm really looking forward to those battle arena..... *smells coooooooool parts*
Wolf04 Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 These are not Bionicle minifig sets but new pics of more Bionicle sets: I have no idea what the hell it is.
Brickmaster Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 All of this sounds so interesting... CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM
Wolf04 Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 I would like to keep this thread as the only Bionicle thread on this site and here are some box shots of some ?enemies? http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...230&BackDepth=1 http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...229&BackDepth=1 http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...228&BackDepth=1 http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...227&BackDepth=1 http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...226&BackDepth=1 http://set.brickinside.com/NeoView.php?Db=...225&BackDepth=1

spotfrog Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 We don't exactly know yet, but he does play a part in helping the Toa Hordika.
The Middleman Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 We don't exactly know yet, but he does play a part in helping the Toa Hordika. He doesn't look enemy-ish. Spotfrog, you look like a fine young Bionicle lad, are you interested in purchasing some old sets? :D
Kynok Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Yowzers! Thats cool! To bad there's no pictures. :( -BB EDIT: Thats all old news on BZP. heres the new. His name is Toa Iruini face shot shadow figure Too big to put on a post. EDIT #2: We don't exactly know yet, but he does play a part in helping the Toa Hordika. He doesn't look enemy-ish. He has "vast" knowlege of venoms, the Hordika are sapose to look for him so he can give them the cure for the Visorak venom wich made them into Hordika. He is a good guy.
