SilvaShado Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) Hi all! I'm Silva Shado. My husband (blackpyre) and I emerged from the dark ages together over a year ago. We both love castle and medieval themes. Almost all of our MOCs are in that vein. We joined Eurobricks because of the Pirates of the Caribbean contest, but we're here to stay and look forward to joining in the discussions here. I'll be flitting around, probably more than my husband, but we'll both be around the Castle and Pirates boards. See ya around the hills and seas! ~Silva~ Edited June 22, 2011 by SilvaShado Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Hey, another couple on EB! That's great! Welcome to EB, SlivaShado, and I hope you enjoy the site! Quote
SilvaShado Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Thanks for the welcome! Is it rare to have AFOL couples? So far, from the people I've interacted with in person, it doesn't seem to be too common. Usually one of the partners is anywhere from tolerant to supportive of the other's hobby, but not a full fan themselves. Quote
Niku Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Welcome to EB SilviaShado, enjoy the forum. And yes is not common to see AFOL´s couples. In fact you and your husband are the second Ive heard of. Very lucky you both are. The first are these. They make kind of reviews. Greetings. Quote

In fact you and your husband are the second Ive heard of. Very lucky you both are. The first are these. They make kind of reviews. Greetings. That's what I thought. I find it a little sad that not more couples enjoy the hobby together. I am very very lucky! :-D That's fun for them to do those videos together. Quote
Jebediahs Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Welcome to the boards. Glad you're a CASTLE fan because if it ain't CASTLE, it ain't right! Is it rare to have AFOL couples? Usually one of the partners is anywhere from tolerant to supportive of the other's hobby, but not a full fan themselves. I've slowly been brainwashing my wife to share my addiction with the help of the Pharaoh's Quest sets as she loves Egyptian culture. Hopefully she'll be a diehard AFOL soon. Again, welcome to EB! LU! I wish I was part of an AFOL couple, but my wife couldn't care less about LEGO or LEGO forums, so now I'm brainwashing our son! Good to have you on Eurobricks, AFOL couples are cool Quote
SilvaShado Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Welcome to Eurobricks I hang out in the Pirate and military them sections. Mostly pirate. You should request the Lady tag. Hi There! I've been in the pirate section lately for the writing contest, but we did buy all of the PoTC sets and we may be designing a Pirate section for our club's layout in November. If we do, I'll take some pictures and post in the pirate board. I was thinking about requesting the Lady tag, but I like rising in the ranks of the normal crew. I was actually a little disappointed when I became a citizen as I liked the term vassal. I like medieval stuff and this kind of touched on that. Of course, on the other hand, Lady was a designation of nobility in the medieval era. I could always think of it like that... ...but it comes down to me not liking pink! lol! I wish I was part of an AFOL couple, but my wife couldn't care less about LEGO or LEGO forums, so now I'm brainwashing our son! Good to have you on Eurobricks, AFOL couples are cool Sorry to hear that you're wife is not onboard, but you've got the right forward motion with your son. You get him hooked for life and you've got someone to share the fun with. I'm finding that it's pretty rare for both people in a relationship to like LEGO, but I'm also starting to realize that it helped that we emerged from the Dark Ages together, at the same moment. It was very bonding. Quote
