SavaTheAggie Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Gallery Texas State Railroad GE 70 ton switcher #22 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_70-ton_switcher Built by General Electric in May 1956 for the Texas South-Eastern Railroad as engine #22. It operated on the Texas State Railroad when the TSE operated the line under lease. Source I have visited the TSRR many times, but I have never seen this one out of the Palestine shop. I do not know of her operating status or of any plans to change it. --Tony Quote

BillytheKid Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 A great moc. Very good looks and a lot of work for using the colors like that. job. Quote
AussieJimbo Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Another mighty fine TSRR loco to add to your collection, Sava. Top job. :classic: Quote
Selander Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Also a very nice design. Same question: How is it powered ? Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks all. Also a very nice design. Same question: How is it powered ? It's not. Three of the four TSRR diesels are unpowered, as they're either too small or the design too complex to be powered in any fashion. --Tony Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Great engine 'StA'. Excellent, detailed work! The colors are great as well, keep up the great models Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Very beautiful diesel shunter SaveTheAggie! I like both your models but in my opinion this one it's a little bit better! Great building technique and fantastic yellow rigid hoses Quote
22kane Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I went into the picture album and noticed the RS-2, very impressive. I was just thinking today how I would go about building one. Your loco's are quite impressive and I was wondering how possible it would be to power the RS-2? I'm guessing it would need re-designed and may not look right as it may end up over-sized. Looking forward to more of your designs, excellent work! Quote

Looking forward to more of your designs, excellent work! Do you mean powering it with Power Functions? My ALCO RS-2 is already powered with 9v. To power it with Power Functions would be easy except the battery box - there's room for everything else. To fit a battery box would require one of three things - redesign to "fit" a battery box in the design in spite of it not being accurate, hollow out the fuel tank and extend it further down to hide a battery box inside, or build a custom battery box (which is what I'd probably do). Speaking of which - you can purchase the instructions to my RS-2 and my MRS-1 in my bricklink shop. --Tony Quote
roamingstop Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Im using a 9V PP3 to PF adapter (custom made from the 9V --> PF cable) - I was able to fit it inside the 4512 Dark Grey locomotive - but only by making the body 5 wide (the PP3 needs 3 stud width). If you have space to use Panels then the walls can be 4 studs wide. The 5 stud wide panels also allowed the PF receiver to be effectively hidden.... Ive not done it with Sava's models (yet) but hope it is reliable... Quote

I would be using PF as I've sold off most of my 9v stuff. Now that I know I can fit PF I'll probably be purchasing the instructions in the next month or so. Such a cool Loco!! Quote
