So that's the ship used for the Surprise... Does somebody knows if the Acheron from Master and Commander is a real ship as well? I need proper pictures of it, I want to build it in lego but I just can't find pictures of it!

there was a physical to scale model made for the Acheron for the boarding scenes as well as a cgi model and a scaled model as well. There's a fair amount of nice pics on the Master and Commander Collection Edition DVD and all the behind the scenes and stuff is pretty cool too!

No problem. In one of the featurettes it has a great shot of the surprise and the archeron nose to nose and you really get a good sense of the size difference between the two.

I have been doing some research on the Rose because I used it as a model for my MOC ship L' Orient.

Here is a list of the websites I found most useful:

Handcrafted model of the HMS Surprise (of which the Rose is a replica). The pictures of this model reveal details you can hardly detect on the pictures of the real Rose.
