ghoulrealm Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 First check Vahkimetru's Imperial River Runner thread for the background story. Mr Ghoulrealm, which "parts" would you consider adding to make this MOC more interesting and/or more realistic? I'ld do something like this Quote
Captain Roger Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Good ghoulrealm...you ahve improved a lot the MOC of vahkimetru...Is good and original at the same time...I didn't like the first version of the MOC but now is nice. Ah, one thing...I have build two MOCS recently...I am a noob but I hope you like it...I'll submit them in a short period of time Quote
vahkimetru Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 My parents didn't ban me, you were right. School. And a small Dark Age. But I'm back and real sorry I didn't reply. Thanks for the comments! P.S. Mr. Phes, the MOC had an "accident", but I'm seeing my older cousin who has loads of Imperial Guards soon, I think in a week, I'll make a revision with more pirate parts. Ghoulrealm, your MOC is awesome. Better than mine by far! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 7, 2006 Governor Posted July 7, 2006 Mr Ghoulrealm, I thought this MOC was worthy of its own thread as you've done quite a good job. I'm wondering if you could take a few more pictures of it from different angles so we can get a better look at this. Quote
oo7 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Is it just me or did this boat have a small steering wheel in the pic that was posted in Vahkimetru's thread? For a small raft/boat it's very nice. I would suggest changing the tan/yellow peice for the top of the lantern to black or a grey peice of the same type. EDIT: ya know, red would be fine too. Quote
ghoulrealm Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 Is it just me or did this boat have a small steering wheel in the pic that was posted in Vahkimetru's thread? Nice catch! I edited the design in favor of a manual rudder. It was a small brown steering wheel. I'll get some more pics up shortly. I didn't feel intitrely comfortable posting this blatant ripoff without Vahkimetru's permission. Let me know your feelings on this issue in general. I however don't have any qualms about stealing moc ideas for personal use, I am a pirate after all :-P Quote
vahkimetru Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 *y* Anyone who can improve my crummy MOCs can make ripp offs of 'em! LOL! JK, make all the MOCs you want, inspired by me or not! *y* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 7, 2006 Governor Posted July 7, 2006 I wouldn't say this was "stealing" I say its the result of inspiration. The idea might have already been done before but this is the first time its been done Ghoulrealm's way and that's what makes it unique. You've taken an existing design and possibly improved it. That's not to say Mr Vahkimetru's design inferior rather its a predecessor. But this is happening all the time in technology. Someone is always taking an existing design and finding ways to improve it or add more features. Quote
Norro Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Very nice, I didn't fully endorse the idea the first time, but you have made it into a workable concept. Perhaps a larger crew would help as it would require 3(?)* men to man the cannon. God Bless, Nathan *or 2 men and a woman, or 1 lego monkey (he'll manage) or an infinate number of crocidiles (craft sunk, man eaten, cannon lost...) etc... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 7, 2006 Governor Posted July 7, 2006 And don't forget to take more pictures if you have access to a digital camera. A variety of shots from all different angles and distances is very useful for getting an overall idea of the MOC. From my own experiences I've discovered one picture is never enough given by the responses I've got. But I suppose a variety of different shots gives the viewer a better perspective since they can't actually view it in 3D space. Quote
ghoulrealm Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 Here is a few more shots of the river runner. aft view capsized next to a turret I'm working on comming in to dock Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 8, 2006 Governor Posted July 8, 2006 Excellent! New pictures are great! Is this dock part of this MOC or is it something you created earlier and decided it works well with the Imperial River Runner? Quote
ghoulrealm Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 Is this dock part of this MOC or is it something you created earlier and decided it works well with the Imperial River Runner? I had created the the dock for an harbor idea I had earlier but never got around to it. That is why it is a bit high for the river runner. I just threw it in for no particular reason. Quote
Sean Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I only really noticed this now, but the boat for the river runner is a really nice design. I like the use of those brown things from...well the only set I know it belongs to is that SW droid fighter. The dock is a really nice touch too, that would be a really cool system set. Quote

Captain Roger Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 the black pirate is really cool...I really like it...about the cannon...is the first time i see a cannon like this...is not a cannon from pirates theme...can you tell me from that theme is that cannon? Quote
oo7 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I see you took my idea of changing the color of the top of the lantern, it looks better now That dock is very nice, simple but adds a really nice toutch to a pirate mock. The guy walking with the barrel must be an ancestor to a famous NBA player. Quote
Norro Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 What did you use to make the hull? these wedge pieces mounted sideways (SNOT)...It works very well! God Bless, Nathan Quote
vahkimetru Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Yes, the african pirate is great! All for adding diversitie to Lego Pirate! *y* Which NBA All star head did you use? BTW, Very nice dock. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 8, 2006 Governor Posted July 8, 2006 What did you use to make the hull? these wedge pieces mounted sideways (SNOT)...It works very well! This eh? Have you made a ship with these Mr Norro? Is there a mid section to go with these pieces? Quote
ghoulrealm Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 I'll make deconstruction pictorial soon(within a couple of days). I,m attending a wedding today. It's not at sea or anything, but the rececption is beach themed. Quote
Sean Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 This eh? Have you made a ship with these Mr Norro? Is there a mid section to go with these pieces? I think he just used those 1 x 1 bricks with the stud on the side, I can't find a picture but I think you know what I mean. Quote
Captain Roger Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Well...can somebody tell me in what Lego theme appear that cannon? Of course is not a cannon from Lego Pirates Quote
Sean Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 the cannon itself is from pirates, but if your talking about the wheels, that is inspired off the Wild West theme I believe. Quote
Berry Syedow Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I really like the river runner 2.0, ghoulrealm. The simple snot design makes an excellent boat. Brown is a sparse commodity around my parts, but I might have to also expand upon the river runner. ;-) We shall see! Quote
