I have the 8547 set, with a conversion set arriving that would give me extra parts to make up for what is missing from the 8527 set. How can I add those peices to the 8547 set, so when I am building, the current stock numbers reflect properly. Is there a way to make a custom set is the question?

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but the 8547 Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 set has this Parts Inventory. If you want to get the Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf file, AndyC recently made one for the standard Alpha Rex 2.0 model, and posted it on this Eurobricks post.

I'm not sure what kind of "conversion kit" you are talking about. You can use LDD Manager to keep track of any additional/different parts that you have in your digital model.

Here is the Converstion Kit I purchased.

When I select the 8547 kit in the parts pallet, it gives the quantity of parts available. As I use them, the quantity goes down. So I want to add the new parts to the existing pallet. Is there a way of doing that?

As far as I know, there is unfortunately no way of editing those built in palettes, or adding your own. But that would be a super feature in future version of LDD.

@ PavementPilot: OK, I'm familiar with Bill Shaw's (Inanimate Reason) NXT 1.0 to 2.0 Conversion Kit. Since he provided a Parts List (see below), why can't you just keep track of the parts you use in LDD on a separate spreadsheet?

I guess I should send off an email to the suggestion box at lego.

I can do that for the meantime, thanks for the idea.
