The Thoughts of the exceedingly wise Norro:

...in under a word per brick...

Originally sold as part of the 1675 Bonus Pack this was a great set which came with some decent pare parts from 'lesser' themes. I can remember playing with this set for hours, it was only very rarely that the brave patrolling knights discovered the hidden forestman, and more often than not he still escaped in this high-speed getaway cart...

Guest Minifig Comments:

Years ago we flipped one of those lego coins ('lego' or #) and I lost and have been the one in the hidden compartment ever since... It is actually more spacious than you might think, has some ventilation and fits me 'snugly' when I lie flat. The only downside, and it's a major one, is that I'm down wind of that

Norro: I hope you're maintaining an index of some kind for all these great set reviews. This would make a great reference for these classic sets.

I have the original posts, are you suggesting I tag the links to each thread somewhere on EB?

Nathan

your reveiws are always the best, and crack me up everytime Norro !!!

i think these are all linked in the pinned "castle index" thread right ??? i think that is the appropriate place for the "reference" guide you speak of Brickster.

however, it would be great if these posts linked to that thread too. just to promote it, im not sure how many users check it. and it could be (and should be) a valuable resource for older threads.

Downwind is never a good place to be with animals around.

I loved this set a a child. Great play value and a good price too!

i'm working on a database for all the space sets that will be reviewed in the future. the idea is to link the actual reviews with the title of a set in that particular database, so if you ever want to read a review, you'll just be able to go to the database that will be pinned and click on the link... Perhaps something similar can be done for Castle as well. the only problem right now is that it has to be in an sql format, for whatever, reason, however, you can just limit your database by mentioning the set number only. that way, you'd be saving yourself a lot of time, effort and trouble...

to come to this set... this one was on ebay.be two weeks back or something for 20 euro; can't remember if it included the box though... I 'd never seen it before...

So far all the reviews (bar this one) are in Yoda's caste index... but that is a lot of work for him. Perhaps for ease I could create a post with a link to each review (in no. order) and edit it with each new one, this master list could than be pinned by some admin type... Is this a low tech way of going about it?

just create a new topic called castle database or whatever title you want it to have, maybe some medieval term for it or so, with the reviewed castle sets, maybe rank them according to subtheme and add a link to the reviews. we'll pin that. pretty low tech...

I think having all that in the index is better because we don't need another pinned topic: there are already 4 of them and adding a fith will just be too heavy IMO

I will start editing the EB indexs tomorrow and will do so more on a regular basisd like I did when I created them ;-)

How does that sound Norro ?

Ah yes Phes, oops exceedingly wise Norro i meant :-D :-P

Its those kind of sets for me that had great potential but failed to deliver it. Why do you ask ? For all those blue parts !! Whats wrong with TLC and Blue !!

Okie Blue is the cheapest colour to produce BUT tan is as well !! So tan would have looked way better than blue IMO !! Sure its easy to switch those 9 blue parts (out of 56 total) but on a small set its aggravating to do that !!

Apart from that its great and simple set that can be used in every medieval town or even in rural nowadays societies where horses are still used hehe !!

It has a nice accessories (especially that brown fork) and Mfs !!
