xwingyoda Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Don't get me wrong there Aredhel, for me the magic trio of teams is this: * France * Italy * Germany ;-) Why I rooted for Italy ? Simple, I'm a quarter Italian ;-) Hence the order I place the teams above ;-) And I hate those France Italy games for that reason ;-) As I consider myself a real European, I love the German team but it has to go after my heritage :-P I would root for Germany as long as they don't play France or Italy hehe !! I want to congratulate Germany for a beautifull WC !! Two thumbs up really !! Great football and spirit !! And its great to see a beautifull German team !! Umm... which match did you watch? I built my 8421 Technic crane and didn't really pay attention, but all I heard was the commentators talking about yet another italian attack. Mrs. Hobbes watched the game and also said that but for a few counterattacks Germany was pretty much contained by the Italians. And... what's this beauty-guy's name.... Ballack?... he had his worst match of this tournament. Extra time I did watch (my crane was finished) and all I can say is: Italy came out with full force and Germany was more or less dead meat. Those two goals were WELL deserved (Italy had two shots at the post, too). No matter what everybody says about defense and so on: you only win when you score more goals than your opponent, not when you argue better (like Lehmann and Ballack did all the time)... Quote

They played much more better than against Argentina and some of the refrees desicions were just wrong!!! Those 2 goals were NOT deserved!!! The referee was pretty good for a change. Replays showed him right all the time except once, I think. Can't remember what that was, though (that was while I built my crane). As for the game, same answer as (...) I've been a fan of a baseball team that had its last winning season in 1997. Since then they've finished near the bottom of their division every season. I've heard my share of jokes and mockings. I just don't care ;-) I kinda had to start the thread the way I did because I couldn't stand how the Germans think of their foosball* team and how they saw themselves als champions already. There was a certain arrogance I didn't like. So I was happy they got kicked out, just for the sake of it 'cos I don't even care about foosball*. The tournament for me is done now, I saw what I wanted to see ;-) * Spelled like that on purpose Quote

Let me tell you, if ever Portugal wins tonight, all my neighboorhood will be like a war zone !! They tend to be loud forever and in two years they will still brag !! I want France to win just to shut them up :-D (like last Euro, they bragged like crazy until they lost to Greece in the finals ROFL !! Now that game is taboo !! Pathetic loosers >:-( !!) Be proud of your team and country but don't aggress others !! I hate people shouting during national anthems (like Germans did last night during "Fratelli d'Italia"). And alays remember one thing, its ONLY sports and sports is here for FUN !! Also, the spirit of the WC is brotherhood and what have you !! However for me italy played better and in the end deserved the win, i mean heres a team that hit the crossbar twice in the first few min of extra time and then scored 2 late on. As for portugal i hope that the french stuff them good tonight though the french dont have a good record against portugal oh and i also hope ronaldo gets a good kickin... the lying little megablok >:-( >:-( Quote

snefroe Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 well i think that italy deserved to win. they had the better chances and in the end they had the most experienced team. the way Del Pierro made that second goal was purely on automatic pilot, a goal he made so often in his career, piece of cake, for him. it wasn't a question of luck, really, it's just tipically italian, they know they can beat anybody and they know when to strike. so now they'll take on Portugal or france... hm... difficult choice here. It's Deco against Zizou; Vieira against Figo... hm... who knows how this turns out... then there's Henry, Maniche, Ronaldo, ... first of all, i hope to see a great game... Quote

We al ran outside when Italy had scored and started screaming, then all the Germans started screaming even harder and we noticed Italy had scored yet another.
