deskp Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Since the lack of a deck, and the open dissapointed quite few, I have made A suggestion on how to improve on this fairly easy (if you got the right parts) Here is the ship with and without the "upgrade". With upgrade: Without: The green yellow and bright red pieces are there to show you what I added to the ship. The Red plate is not as easy to remove after palceing as the others. For play some pieces might need some extra support! Plase share you own ideas on Mod'ing the ship. if anyone is intrested i can post the LDD file. Here is the file Updated 8th april nearly complete + my modeifed version LINK file mirror(brickshelf)): LINK Lantern redesign + the one used in the movie. Edited April 10, 2011 by deskp Quote
Murdoch17 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I was making a Imperial Flagship meets Brickbeards Bounty diorama in LDD using models from the Lego Digital Designer forum. Halfway through adding mini figures, I noticed that the Brickbeards bounty looks quite small compared to the Imperial Flagship. Then I come upon this section of the forum, and almost fell out of my chair. I then noticed there's no LXF file... could you please include the LXF file of the modified Queen Anne's Revenge? Thanks! deskp Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Added the file to my first post, I wasnt able to uplod it as an attatchment so i used another host, if anyone know a better host do tll me. Also be aware that the ship isnt complete! you will need to add a brick for the railing on the balcony part so it wont "fall off" Edited April 7, 2011 by deskp Quote
Capn Frank Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 From the pics, it does not appear to be too difficult to MOD the QAR to have an acceptable deck. That's good to know. I would still probably maintain a gangway opening between the fore and main mast (similar to the Black Seas Barracuda). Is there a way to get from the spar deck to the gun deck? If not, I would add a small stairwell or ladder opening. Quote
prateek Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Awesome job. What irks me is that Lego never makes these simple and inexpensive mods themselves. Quote

ryanrl Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Queen Anne's revenge reminds me a lot of Brickbeards Bounty in terms of there deck. They both seeem like they need an upper deck but then when you actually add it it just gets in the way because you can't gain access to the cannons below and then you have to add more of a side wall to the upper deck to make it seem right. Both ships should just be made larger and given a true upper and lower deck like the IPF in my opinion. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) Okay, I just remembered about this topic, and I tried downloading the file, but it won't let me. Could you please use some other file hosting website, like Brickshelf or MOCpages? Thanks! EDIT: Thank You for posting it on Brickshelf! Can't wait to set it upon my virtual Imperial Flagship!
