My son is having a "Lego Birthday Party" this Saturday. He'll be 6. We're having about 10 kids over to do typical birthday stuff, but also planned to have themed lego centers scattered around the hosue for the kids to play with the bricks.

I only have a few thousand bricks that are not tied up in some way or another. I had meant to get a few pounds of mixed bricks of EBay, but life got crazy as usual.

Can anyone recommend a good deal on around $50 in bricks that I could get to Buffalo, NY by Friday?

I appreciate any feedback. (Except for pointing out how I should have done this two weeks ago...)

Thanks!

Today is Wednesday, so if you order immediately from Amazon, the 2-day shipping might pull through. Would two tubs of these be enough for you?

You can probably also find them at Walmart, Tru, or Target. I would just go to the brick and mortal store and see how much I can get with $50.

Well, depending on how much time you have, the LEGO brand store in Elmhurst NY is only about 1.5 hours from Buffalo, and you can pick up some grab bags. I have a lot of them, and they cost $7 each and hold about 100 parts. These grab bags often have rare parts, for evample, mine had the sound brick from the Grand Carousel in it, which on Bricklink, is worth more than the entire bag cost! If you can make it down there, Grab Bags are totally worth it!

It's Teusday. Put a wanted on craigslist, while you are there email every garage sale listing and ask if they have any LEGO. Just a few more days and I could have hooked you up.

Good luck, you will need it.

Yeah, I haven't thought about buying those in a while. I think I bought 3 of those around 10 years ago.

I'll call that Plan B for now. I'm really looking for something more like:

I know that I can keep a kid busy with only a few bricks, but I'm still working out what I'm going to do. I have to keep 12-15 kids busy. If no more come... I was hoping having a pile of new elements in front of me would give me some ideas.

Last time I was in walmart, they had a lot of different mini sets in plastic bags like this 30051 here:

for just $3. I might get those for giftbags.

You got me really excited for a minute there! I've been waiting for a Lego store to open around here for a long time. I'd make a 1.5 hour drive a couple of times a year for that.

Unfortunately, Elmhurst is about as far downstate as you can get. It's at least 6 hours from Buffalo. Next time I'm in NYC, though, I'll think about making a stop.

I am really sorry! I live in California, and I just used Google Maps with "Buffalo, NY" as the Start, and "Elmhurst, NY" as the end. For some reason it thought there was an Elmhurst much closer. I just now put in "LEGO Store Elmhurst, NY" and it showed the 6 hours. Sorry about the mix-up, and I hope you can find the LEGO for the party!
