Brickadeer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I like the arc, because it was pretty dramatic. Remember, it was the Jedi who created the clones (at least, they ordered their creation). In the last episode of this arc, a clone, for the very first time, killed a Jedi, which reminds me a bit of the classic "Frankenstein"-story. Krell was a pawn, and I find it unlikely that he knew the identity of Sidious. Rather, he was used to loosen the bond between the clones and the Jedi. That fits pretty good to a sentence Dooku said in an earlier episode, and that might become the motto of this season: The Sith control everything. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Wait, who's Lieutenant Havoc? BTW, who said that Commanders Colt and Blitz got promoted? Lieutenant Havoc was the blue ARC in the Season 3 episodes "Clone Cadets" and "ARC Troopers". He died from a blaster wound in the hangar of Tipoca City. Here's some pictures of him: @commanderneyo: Sorry, I didn't notice that you posted it earlier. I just found it on YouTube while I was watching Umbara again, and thought that no one had posted it. commanderneyo Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Here is a new trailer for "Kidnapped" (not just a different logo, a definite new trailer): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0ms8iwxNGQ&feature=feeduAwesome Quote
commdr_neyo Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Finally, Krell is dead. I find it funny that no one else has realized that this whole plan of Krell's was actually Palpatine's doing. Maybe you have, but no one has mentioned it. Palpatine called Anakin off just so Krell would get a chance. Palpatine knew that Krell would be useful for a while, and then be expendable after the war. Or, Krell was already pretty well aquatinted with Sidious, which makes sense of him knowing how the war ends. Overall, it was a good end to the arc. Waxer's death was really sad, as was the whole clones vs. clones thing. I'm also really happy Fives is still alive. I thought it would be something like this, and I think this ending really makes up for the episodes before it, which I thought were quite crappy. My guess was that Krell was a dark Jedi, but it wasn't that obvious from the beginning, so I was doubting it at first.. I'm also happy they didn't kill off any other important clones, more than just Waxer wouldm't be suiting, IMO. Looking forward to the next episode! Quote
nex Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 @Darth Nihilus: When was it ever confirmed that his name was Lieutenant Havoc? Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 @Darth Nihilus: When was it ever confirmed that his name was Lieutenant Havoc? On two wikis, and their sources are listed as being StarWars.com. Although, it appears I was wrong, as Clone Wars Wiki lists Havoc as being a Commander. But, Clone Trooper Wiki lists him as being a Lieutenant. Two conflicting sources doesn't tell us much, except that one of them is wrong. Quote
commanderneyo Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Kidnapped was very good, but it was never going to reach the standards Umbara set. Good to see Boil again though, though the comic version of that part was actually Waxer, but had to be changed in the episode. Preview of the next episode here: http://www.starwars.com/explore/the-clone-wars/ep412/ Quote
Forresto Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 So I don't know if anyone reads the clone wars comics, but the episode last night and the rest of this trilogy are based on the first comics. The characters and setting are different but the Zygerrians and Zirosians being enslaved are the same. The overall concept's the same but the story is very different in many aspects. Wookiepedia This was a great episode, I especially loved the squid creature, a Blixus I think it's called. Quote
CF Mitch Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Just watched Kidnapped. I rather enjoyed it. I liked seeing Cody and Boil again. At the end of the episode, Yoda mentioned that slavers play a great part in the rise of the Sith... I wonder if that means the Togruta's will be used in the construction of the Death Star? Regards, Mitch Quote

Fives Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Kidnapped was a great episode! I mean, not at the same scale as Umbarra, but I'm kinda happy to see other characters like Ahsoka and Obi-Wan again. This episode was Obi-Wan's first big role in the season, and it was really good. Darts D'Nar was an interesting villain to have, and I thought he was really cool. Overall, great episode, and I'm excited to see the next one! Quote
Fallenangel Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 The Rebel Bloggers' review of Kidnapped has been posted on the blog. For whatever reason, the Zygerrian slave ship reminds me of an Action VI transport. Maybe I'm just making bizarre connections again... Quote
Hellfyre Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I guess the canonicity of the original comic series is overidden now. Still, I enjoyed the episode. Wasn't aware that two strikes of a lightsaber could defuse bombs though And the Zygerrian looks different from the previous sources, what's up with that? Quote

The comic is still canon, but TCW crew decided it was such a good comic they should make episodes of it. Basically, we are seeing the comic as episodes appear on the show. 2. They developed the Zygerrian model to make it look less humanoid and more it's own design. Quote

Basically, we are seeing the comic as episodes appear on the show. As far as canonicity goes, it's probably something like 'the comic is canon except where it specifically contradicts the episode, and since the particulars were never explicitly stated in the comic, the episode is canon'. So even though that DNA guy looks nothing like a Zygerrian as described in canon, the episode never said he didn't look like a Zygerrian as described in canon, meaning that he in fact does look like a Zygerrian as described in canon. commanderneyo Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) New preview from the next episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Llv_lU8cWQE&feature=feedf This schedule lists the episode airing Friday, December 9th (next week) is "Darkness on Umbara", so either we have a one-week break between this friday's one and "Escape from Kadavo", or we have to wait until January for the conclusion to the "Slavers" arc... http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/schedule/index.html?atclk_gn=gn_link_tvschedule Edited November 30, 2011 by commanderneyo Quote
Clone OPatra Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 If I may make a prediction, what happens right after the scene in that trailer is Anakin pulling out his lightsaber and blowing cover after about five seconds, making showing up in costume at all pretty useless. Quote

He won't. The next scene will be him & Ahsoka (both still in costume) going up before the queen. Quote
Oky Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Yeah. This may be Anakin we're talking about, but not even he is that dumb or impulsive. A more likely scenario would be a ROTJ Sarlacc Pit reference, with R2 throwing Anakin and Ahsoka their lightsabers just when all hope seems lost, allowing them to save the day. Quote

commanderneyo Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Good episode, but I feel it wasn't as good as the last one. The ROTJ reference was a nice touch though. Quote
Oky Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 HA! I called it! Or he'll pull an "Old Ben Kenobi" Jedi mind trick. EDIT: I Just watched "Slaves of the Republic" What kind of accents do Zygerrians have? Russian? Ukrainian? German? I can't tell. Unlikely. I don't think Anakin is any good at Jedi mind tricks, which is why he always resorts back to force choking. I think it's supposed to be Russian, hence the similarity of the planet's name with Siberia. Quote
Fives Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 This latest episode was pretty good. I really liked the whole undercover idea. Also, the nod to ROTJ was really great. There is just one thing: Why is Obi-Wan getting the crap kicked out of him in these episodes! I mean, what the hek! He is Obi-Wan fricken Kenobi! He can do better than this! Quote
Artanis I Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 But what I'd like to know is how the heck R2-D2 got up there, why no one tried to stop him from ejecting Luke's lightsabres, and where he disappeared to after that. And where was Ahsoka's little yellow one? More importantly, WHY MUST OBI WAN GET SNOTTED SO MUCH LATELY?!? Booooooo! Quote
