Vader Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Not sure if this has been posted yet but just in case heres the link to the first trailer for spiderman 3 and all i can say is wow!!! http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_picture...n_3/medium.html Quote
Andrex Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Merci beaucoup, I'll check it out! I'm not a massive superhero fan, but Spiderman is certainly kewl! I saw the last film which I loved, this has great potential! And it probably means more Lego :-D Quote
JoeMI6 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 WOW!!! I know it's a bit early to judge, but I can't hold in my excitement. This could well be the best Spiderman Movie yet. That trailer is amazing! Quote
DoubleT Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Wow nice find Vader Hires is here http://www.davestrailerpage.co.uk/ Quote
ApophisV Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 *wub* But what the heck happened to good ol' Goblin (II) costume??? Judging from the few images we can see Harry looks alot more like some sort of techno guy (somehow reminds me alot of "Tracer" from the lately released "Spider-Man - The Other" storyline :-X ) instead of a cool looking fairy tale goblin... But besides this: *y* Can't wait to see the movie! *spoiler avoiding mode on* Oh, and hopefully Venom will look like in the comic book and not just like Spideys black costume... :-/ Quote
natelite Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 i dont think it will be a lego hit. spiderman doesn't use gadgets unlike batman. for a theme to be a super hit, in my opinion, it has to have machines and gadgets. like star wars - lots of war machines, planes, ships, etc. and batman with his machines (but that's stretching it too - since you only need a car, a boat, a copter/plane and that's about it). we have seen it with spiderman 2 vs dr octopus. nothing is attractive about the sets. lego probably loss money on the license. i don't think they will repeat the mistake with spiderman 3. Quote
Vader Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 The lego sets sucked if you ask me, i mainly bought a few for the figs really. Its a shame though as they could of been so much better than they were. Anyway before this topic goes into a lego set rant lets get back to the trailer, Apo i to hope that venom is like his comic counterpart if not then it will be a real shame. I loved the bit where we see the sandman in full sand mode crashing down and hope theres alot more of it in the film. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The trailer looks great and I just read the synopsis on IMDB I really trust Raimi on making a third installment as good if not even better than the 2 first ones !! I understand wher Sandman is coming from but can someone please explain me that Venom theories please ;-) Apo :-) I read somewhere that there are two supposibly but being a profane on the subject, I never understood it !! *yoda* Quote
ApophisV Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I understand wher Sandman is coming from but can someone please explain me that Venom theories please ;-) Apo :-) I read somewhere that there are two supposibly but being a profane on the subject, I never understood it !! As far as I know Venoms origins are really weird, he (-> the symbiont) originally was some sort of "living costume" appearing in Secret Wars (80's or 90's I think, not the mini series "Secret War" from 2004/05) and then developed to Peter's villain after Peter tried to get rid of the costume. After he left Peter he got Eddie Brock as his new host. Nowadays Eddie got rid of Venom and tried to sell him at a auction for criminals, a wannabe villain (Angelo Fortunato) bought him, but Venom killed Angelo and escaped. I'm not 100% sure if this is completely right, for more information see Venom's biography below which I stole from MarvelDirectory.com! There are two other similar alien symbionts, Carnage and Toxin... Venom Real Name: Edward Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Apo, Danke mein Freund *sweet* OK, thats more or less what I thought !! The villain is the costume itself hehe, now the trailer makes sense to me :-D Its fun to notice that all major Spidey villains are not real bad villains per se hehe. They are just "normal" guys who loose control over an object really: Goblin, Octavious, Venom... (at least in the movies hehe) I really can't wait for that movie *y* *y* *yoda* Quote
ApophisV Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Danke mein Freund *sweet* You're welcome! :-) Its fun to notice that all major Spidey villains are not real bad villains per se hehe. They are just "normal" guys who loose control over an object really: Goblin, Octavious, Venom... (at least in the movies hehe) Yeah, and that's what makes the Marvel universe much more appealing to me than the DC universe. Most of Marvel's heros and villains got a "realistic" character with depth, and most of them are not completely BAD or GOOD. Spidey for example even killed an enemy (which is normally a big no-go for a hero!) because of his depression caused by the fact that he was going to die of an unknown desease soon! Things like that make Comic book characters much more reliable for me! Quote
optimus-convoy Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 OK, the trailer isn't working for me. (Trailers on Apple never work for me. :-( ) But I somehow managed to listen to the audio and it sounds pretty intense. :-) Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'll be very dissapointed if that's how the suit looks in the film. I\m also a little unsure about the goblin, did we really need a third villain? Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Very cool! I am really looking forward to this. :-) I'll be very dissapointed if that's how the suit looks in the film. I\m also a little unsure about the goblin, did we really need a third villain? I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure it'll be awesome if they pull it off right, but I'm a little concerned that it'll be too many new main characters, so that they're won't be as much depth to each character. That or there will be depth, but not as much action... I guess I'll have to wait and see. Quote
ApophisV Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'll be very dissapointed if that's how the suit looks in the film. I read at a German comic board that Peter will wear his classic suit at the beginning and the end of the movie! Peter will wear the black suit a good amount of time till Venom seperates from him. After the seperation he'll wear his classic suit! Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 YEAY !! The black suit is SOOOOOO much better !! I was kind of hoping that hehe so I'm glad !! Really I don't understand why you don't like it Sarg, its a really amazing suit 8- Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Really I don't understand why you don't like it Sarg, its a really amazing suit 8- Quote
Vader Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Ok so we know theres 3 villans in the film but what we dont really know is how and when they battle spiderman, it could be like in ROTS where the Sandman is mainly in the first half of the film much like Grevious was. Ive read that the goblin will be paying sandman to kill spidey so this would fit nicely then along the way spidey gets the new suit and losses it before setting up a final showdown with both goblin and venom, if done right this could really be good. Has anyone seen the animated cartoon version from the 90's with the venom suit?? There was a 3 part arch that involved spidey getting the new costume, fighting a few villains and then the birth of venom. This was around 1 hour long and worked really well, also in the trailer at the end you can see spidey hanging upside down in his new threads whilst looking into a mirror glass window, this was actually done in the cartoon so i wonder if the director has taken notice of the cartoon. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Nice point Vader ;-) Raimi is not an idiot like so many others that tried to adapt a comics/video game on the big screen :-D He did a tremendous job on the 2 first installments !! I am sure this one will be brilliant as well *y* *yoda* Quote

Here are some informations from my comic forum (Not confirmed yet, I didn't even find the actual source of that 22-questions-interview yet. ) Sandman is the main villain, he will become Venom in the end (probably because Eddie is killed / dies and Venom tries to get a new host).Spidey will fight Harry during the movie! Final Fight: Sandman & Venom vs. Spidey and Harry(!!!) Venoms story: He comes with an asteroid to earth, will be hosted by Peter, then Eddie and finally Sandman. Venom (the symbiont) will NOT die at the end of part 4, but probably Eddie and Sandman will! As I said, those informations aren't confirmed yet, I will try to get the actual source, meaning the interview and the name of the person who DID the interview! (Raimi??) So be aware that the above informations SEEM to be real but MIGHT be fake! I'll research on this! ;-) Quote
rhymer Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 judging by this pic:pic! We can tell that the Sandman is in it. Quote
Vader Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 It was confirmed a loooooooong time ago ryhmer that sandman would be in it, heck you can even see him in the trailer. But if you missed it heres a few pics one that shows sandman. As for a sandman/venom hybred well i for one wouldnt like that, just give us a plain old evil venom. Quote
ApophisV Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Okay here are some more infos on the Goblin II: Q: Does the Green Goblin II look cool? How many green things does he wear? Does his black cape feature a black hood covering his head? Does the belts hold some jack'o'lantern-bombs? Are his eyes yellow lenses? Does he wear gloves? And why is Harry wearing this particular costume instead of his father's costume?A: The costume itself looks cool. Once again: There is nothing about him what is Goblin-like, besides the weapons, the glider and some green. No Hood; the belts hold two swords. One long sword at the back, a shorter one at his leg. The bombs are attached to the glider. His eyes are black. No idea, why. Possible that they tried to have a design that is based on Harrys taste, some sort of "improvement". My original information, in case that my translation sucked :-$ : A: Als Idee f Quote
