LegoGarlicBread Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Mine's a 4-way tie between 5984 Lunar Limo, 7888 The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise, 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter, or... this may come as a suprise to many... 5969 Squidman's Escape! But if it has to be sets I own, I'd exclude 7888 from my list! Quote
Commander Laquiet Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 It would be good to have a poll here, but I guess it would be far, far too large. I'll let the mods think that one over. It changes quite regularly... currently it would be tied between Medieval Market Village and Fight for the Dagger (from the PoP line). However, old favourites include sets like Truck Stop from 1998, or a little gem like Spider's Secret from Adventurers a year later. I really couldn't name an overall favourite. But I have to say that MMV would come close. Quote
Bricktrain Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Favorite set that I own is definitely 8285 Technic Tow Truck. The set I wish I owned most, 10019 Rebel Blockade Runner. Quote
mikey Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I am more interested in parts than sets now, but I did think Medieval Market Village was the best set I have bought. Building it was actually enthralling, the end product did look gorgeous, but best of all gave me loads of useful pieces. If I was to count the sets I had as a kid I would go for 6696 Backhoe from 1984, just because I had so much play time with it as a built set. Quote
fenrir Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 6067 The guarded Inn. Looks great, fun to build, great set. Fenrir Quote
Seluryar Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) 735, one of my very first lego sets http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=735-1 before that, all i had were just boxes of assorted bricks Edited March 16, 2011 by Seluryar Quote
Follows Closely Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Without a doubt: 6080 6040 and 6030 are close behind. Quote
MetroiD Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Sentiment-wise, from the old days, it would have to be the Precinct Cruiser 6506 or the Spyrius Recon Robot 6889. New sets - the Green Grocer, by a long shot. Quote
Woodland Observer Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I'd have to pick 6080 Castle Lion, because it is just such an iconic set for me. I'd add the 928 Space Cruiser too. Those two sets define LEGO for me. Quote
Marckeyh Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 It's been asked before I believe... My fav set is 6692, as in my avatar picture. Quote
AllanSmith Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 6399 Airport Shuttle is my favourite set. I bought it new and it gets used every year at my annual layout display. It looks and goes well for a 21 year old set. I like it so much I bought a second one from an auction site. Quote
Ambo100 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 10159-1: City Airport for playability and the 10185-1: Green Grocer set for it's huge amount of pieces and design that inspired me to build some of my own modular buildings Quote
user Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Definitely the Mars mission "Aero tube hangar" I've had tons of fun with that set and it's one of the few sets that I've kept together after all these years. Quote
Big Cam Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I will have to say the black seas barracuda, it was the pinnacle of my childhood LEGO experience and the set I'm most proud of. Quote
cimddwc Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I think it's got to be the good old Yellow Castle (375) for me... with honorable mentions of the 978 Space Cruiser, the 7740 train, the Emerald Night (with more than one passenger car) and the Green Grocer. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Gee, that's a tough question with more than one answer.....as a child my favorite at the top was 374 fire station (followed by 377 Shell service station....actually I liked them equally)...as a guy in his 40's....gee, real hard.....Emerald Night - at the top. But in Star Wars 6216 X-Wing and City....another tie....7993 Octan Service Station and 3661 Bank & Money Transport...yep, a new set. Brick On ! Quote
brickmack Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Well, as far as design of the actual set, it would probably be a tie between the Middevial Market Village, Imperial Flagship (The new one, but the old one was cool also, but I don't have the old one), a lot of the old BIONICLE sets, and the Grand Emporium. As far as the parts, it would be a tie between the Death Star Playset (More because of the huge quantity of the parts rather than the parts themselves), and the Imperial Flagship. Quote
Piranha Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Hard choice, maybe between Airport Shuttle, Black Seas Barracuda and Star Wars Cloud City None of which I own Quote
keep on bricking! Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 To be honest I love my new 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter As It is my first star wars sets as I had only gotten battlepacks before Quote
Cwetqo Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 6067 The guarded Inn. Looks great, fun to build, great set. Fenrir I agree. I have the original and even now it still looks good. It was way ahead of its time as civilian building among all those grey-black military based ones. Quote
Krize Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 In my opinion, the best sets ever are the 10179 Star Wars Millenium Falcon and the 8880 Technic Super Car! Quote
Captain Blockbeard Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I could never possibly name just one as my ultimate favorite, but among my most favored sets of all time are: 6274 Caribbean Clipper (pirates) 6276 Eldorado Fortress (pirates) 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab (aqua zone) 6953 Cosmic Laser Launcher (futuron) 6780 XT Starship (classic space) Quote
