On his Flickr photostream, Konajra posted renders of his Lego Sandvik PF300 Mobile Mining Crusher. Here are "2 Lview shots of latest work. A Sandvik pf 300 fully mobile mining crusher. in a 1:40 scale. Only the handrailing and stairs didn't work out the way i wanted so that will be done when this machine becomes reality. Hopefully it will be build starting somewhere in October this year. First I have to collect all the bricks."

Do you think that this can be built with real Lego bricks? Why or why not?

Interesting machine! However I could not find any real life pictures of it.

Brickbuilt seems preatty much feasible. Sizewise around 60-80 studs long The only concern I would have is the "V" shaped support made of the 75° slope bricks. It would need to support around 2 kilos of Lego.

...but he shall not forget the ladder to the top cabin! :classic:

The v-shape is in fact the biggest problem. I've made a construction under the conveyerbelt that connects with the platform on top of the v-shape. My guese is that it isn't strong enough . The only way to find out if this can be build is simple: build it. I've started collecting the bricks and so far I've ordered 2500 bricks just for the frame, all four tracks the v-shape and the platform on top of the v-shape. So the build has more or less started. I'll be posting pictures of the build on my flickr photostream.

There aren't any live pictures to be found of the real PF 300 because Sandvik is currently building the first one ever for a mining site in brasil.

And who will finish first?

On his Flickr photoset, Konajra posted 6 new pictures and states that "I've finished the Apron feeder of the Sandvik PF 300. To my own suprise it is very stable an now the upper platform is connected to the frame of the apron feeder I think that is is capable of carrying the wight of the actual crusher and the hopper.

will be continued."

And the next step is done. The crusher is finished.

I also changed the 1x4 technic bricks In the frame of the apronfeeder into 1x4 bricks. It turned out that it wasn't necessary to use the technic bricks and connect them with each other to get more strength, and now the frame looks even better. more pictures here on flickr

to be continued

@ Dluders, At this moment I start to believe that it can be build with real bricks :classic: .

At the moment I'm already placed the tiles and created all of the red bars along the side of the hopper. Maybe If I have the time today I'll shoot some pictures of that and post them on my flickr account as well as here

to be continued.

Very nice!!! I like how you made those treadmill look really good with tiles and cheese slopes, creative. I'm sure the final version can be finished, despite the concern in early posts the structure might not be able to support the weight.

This MOC is coming along very nicely! It looks even better with the handrails and minifigs on it.

Extremely well done so far. :classic:

It isn't finished yet. I stil have to make all the stairs and railing on the other side of the machine and also the operatorscab, and the stairs to it, at the top of the apronfeeder

Then it is finished, but from this view it looks indeed like it is.
