Hi, I'm pretty new to these forums as I discovered Lego's again after a break of 15 years. I've already done two technic starwars mocs but now I'll start a car. I've been thinking of De Lorean dmc-12 and Citroen BX. DMC would have cool doors but Citroens adjustable ground clearange isn't bad either. I think Citroen's shape fit's better for technic. Stay tuned for photos of DMC or BX very soon ;D

Here are the previous builds to show the quality:

Snowspeeder thread

X-Wing thread.

These are the car's to choose from. I haven't seen good quality builds of either one:

Thanks for reading!

Well, then, see this Eurobricks post about Eric Emmett's Lego DeLorean; you can skip the "Back to the Future" Time Machine part.

I should have been more specific :D I haven't seen good Technic builds of either one! Anyway I chose the Citroen to start with. Front wheel drive is good challenge with very limited space. I wan't to make it as realistic as I can with my part collection.

This is the smallest front wheel drive I was able to build. It has bare on/off cluth but it's better than nothing. I'll make the gear stick affect it.

Hi,

I admire your X-wing a lot. I looked for some email on BrickShelf to contact you, because you have done a magnificent job on that. Fortunately you appeared here.

Your Snowspeeder is great as well.

I really like that you are a Technic "purist" and try to omit the classic bricks. I try to do that as well, although we use a bit different approach.

Looking forward to your next MOC.

Ground clearance motor is still unattached, bigger pictures when the mechanics are completed. I think I'll try to do a frame for the car body next to see how much I have space for mechanics.

Nice work on the front section!

I've just started work a couple of weeks ago on almost the exact same design...

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51830

although I'll admit that yours is a lot neater..

however.. I'm trying to work with an exact scale... and for those size tyres... 2 more studs wide would be too much!

I was hoping for a functional engine, but found it too hard to fit directly above the front axle.

Good work.. I'll be following this thread! :)

@ drakmin:

Love your SW MOC's!

Too bad you haven't showed your SW Technic MOC's here on this little part of Eurobricks before. I guess a lot of Technic wizards here would and could have helped you out on your problems...

Can't wait to to see more of your work on the citroën!

Minor progress, shape of the Citroen seems to be a lot harder to get right than I first thought. I'm not sure if I'm able to finish this in the same quality as my starwars moc's ;D

It looks awesome ! Everything is fixed or some elements are just held by the friction of the pins?

Otherwise, grohl i'm not sure to very well understand this sentence :

"I really like that you are a Technic "purist" and try to omit the classic bricks. I try to do that as well, although we use a bit different approach."

Why do you find good to omit the classic bricks? Personnaly i found i omit to much classic bricks and i recently buy some of them to try to use them more in my creations because they offer others possibilities that are now possible with others technic elements.

I am not much a Model Team design fan. If anything can be done using only studless Technic parts, I will do it that way.
