paul_delahaye Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I went to the Lego shop in Kingston (UK) today and and found it to almost to contain no Lego. I Spoke with the employees and they said they just wern't making enough money to pay the rent to the Bentalls centre, so it is being closed. Officially it is closing next Wednesday but they don't have enough stock so they are closing as of today, Saturday. This is tragic as the nearest lego shop is now 60 miles from me, I am truely gutted. I think with all the new sets this year I have probably spent more than I have ever spent on Lego in a year. This also may not be a good sign for anyone who has a Lego shop loyality card or gift vouchers. They have closed one shop, it may be worth spending the vouchers sooner rather than later if you get my drift..... It is a gloomy day even though it is nearly 30 degrees :'-(
xwingyoda Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Sorry for your loss Paul !! Loosing a great Lego supply is a tragedy for us AFOLS, especially if we are stuck with TRU (when will they be Lego efficient :-| ). I will move this to the right forum ;-) *yoda*
snefroe Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 i've been there once. I always wondered why a lego shop would be located so far from the city of London, in a very nice shopping mall, no doubt, but honestly, no place for a lego shop.
Lord Thrawn Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Why not set it somewhere else? Bluewater store seems to be going well still.
mutley777 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 its a real shame as this is also my local store. :-( i reported this last week to up-date shop data base.
languages Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 What we need is a Lego shop up in the north of England. The nearest shop to me is Birmingham and that is 3 hours away...
