Disappointed I missed out on this, looks fantastic. The really natural terrain shape is stunning, coupled with two of the country's best train creators' MOCs. The fact you managed to do it so far apart from each other is a miracle. Keep it up.

Now that's fantastic 'gambort', any chance of close up's of the buildings and VR rolling stock ? :classic: (Gives me inspiration for New Mannum )

What more can I say but, totally Brick On 'gambort' !

Short answer, not easily. Long answer follows...

Most of the stock is Mike's and is up in Mike's flickr pages (or will be). I didn't get any good shots of the facades but maybe someone else did. Keep checking out the group and general shots of BV2011 to see if any appear. And unlike much of the diorama they should hopefully be somewhat intact so maybe I'll take pics at home of my favourites some day but it won't be soon.

Really impressive stuff - top-notch.

"The-off-the-grid-concept" looks so much better that the usual regular square pattern.

Also, I like to praise your choice of "natural-looking" colors, which brings a lot of realism to the scenary,

I'm just allergic to town scenes in bright yellow, red, blue and green....

Thanks all :)

 Truly a masterpiece! It looks more like a HO diorama than a LEGO one, because of that "out of grid" way of build...which I think is great!

Making it look like an HO diorama was our hope and building off the grid was a requirement. I'm glad you think we achieved that.

Hi Gambort. I saw this on TBB but didn't realize this was your work. I was thinking exactly what kost u grlu mentioned about the HO-look of the entire scene. I especially like the angle of the train town adding to the high quality detail as well as the track bed. Great job to you and Mike for this "top-notch" creation.

Easily the best Lego train layout I've ever seen. All I want now is to get Mike more involved in the M>LTC so I can glom on to his detailing techniques myself :-)

Sureley it would look more like an O scale layout?

Depends which bit you looked at. They used a different scale towards the back to achieve a forced perspective so the facades at the back were probably smaller than O scale. And don't call me Shirley.

And thanks again. Yeah some of it (eg. most of the cars) was about O scale (1:45-1:48) but the buildings at the back were probably closer to 1:60 and the trains were somewhere between the two extremes.
