And me as well! This thread isn't off to a very good start and if you don't get something happening soon someone who isn't as nice as me will probably close it. Unfortunately I couldn't really blame them!

However, I shall offer some advice...

Mr Vahkimetru and Mr Rhymer, what you two should be doing is building an interesting storyline between the two of you. So far all you've got is a few quick messages that aren't going anywhere which isn't appeally to many and therefore you won't get many participants.

What I suggest you do is write an interesting and intriguing background story as a foundation. Are you on a treasure hunt? Are you searching for your long lost grandmother? Do you have a mortal enemey which you wish to defeat?

You should also provide a solid set of rules otherwise things could get way off course like The GREAT Historic LEGO War did. We certainly don't want a repeat of that in this forum!

Next you should provide details of what you plan to do with the storyline and how other users can participate. I.e. Do you need crew? Do you to find a hideout? Do you need to get information from a shady character in an even shadier tavern?

All you're doing at the moment is drinking in the Saloon (that's very western, pirates should be drinking at a tavern, inn, dive, or even pub.) waiting for something to happen. But unfortunately unless you start something its unlikely anything will happen... So get to it laddies!

You'll need to go into a lot more detail than that! Which pirates in particular are causing you the most grief and what are you going to do about it (besides the obvious), explain in detail...

Thanks for the tips Phes. I wasn't thinking piratey lately, so I said saloon. :-P

Now back on track:

Rhymer, we'll need to change our clothes into regular wear, it seems as though pirates have taken St. Thomas. Let's get to the fort. I've got some pirate clothes below deck, we can fool the guards and get in. Then we can capture some pirates and bring the nasty lads on board. The king will sure pay much if we leave victourious.

You'll need to be VERY Piratey in this thread since this is a Pirate forum! Also I recommend that you and your laddies try to write a paragraph per post otherwise someone might think this is just a spam thread - and we don't particularly want to give that impression, do we?

Ahoy thar laddies!

What's this, a piratey adventure without the one and only Berry Syedow?! Say it ain't so!

Name: Berry Syedow, of course. ;-)

Age: 34 (fake)

Weapons o' choice: Pistol an' me trusty rapier (ye mind?)

Me horse's name: Nemoudon (currently with me brother, a merchantman)

Imperial type: Soldier

Rank: Deck officer

VM, a character's backstory would spicen up the adventure!

I started a career as a merchantman that sailed goods from the growing city of Goldridge o'er to the prosperous citizens of Greenshire. Goods were relatively cheap at that time so I could always expect a hefty profit. In me youth I was a careless laddie who liked to stretch a silver piece a mile wide. Because o' this I had left me vessel devoid o' cannons an' such; after all I had sailed well over two years without bein' robbed. Soon enough I fell prey to a band of pirates, blast the scurvy dogs! They marooned me on a desolate rock in the northern waters. Fate would have it that I meet an ole coot that occupied a distant tower. 'E went by the name o' ahh, what was it?, ahh yes, Lannsing, Rupid Lannsing. The old man rambled on about a past of chivalry and knighthood. He tinkered with inventions an' the like. Eventually I sailed back to the mainland of Greenshire after he courteously revealed his waning ship, seven months after me landin'! I suppose he grew lonely at times, who could blame 'im? :-P Till this very day I have not seen the man that robbed me of my rightful fortune, but when that day arrives I shall be avenged!

I've had me fair dose of adventure on land too, but that is another story. ;-)

The seas beckon me once more!

NOTE TO CURRENT & FUTURE PARTICIPANTS ON THIS GAME: Observe Berry Syedow's first post, he's written a very good introduction for his entrance into this game - so aspire to his level and this thread will succeed nicely. If you varnments can uphold a decent pirate storyline without going to far off topic I'll even give promotions those who have registered to the Pirate Ranking System - but only if you do a really good job.

I will go try on the pirate cloths to see if they fit me. Anyways welcome to the Armada Berry. Berry I think you should stay here. *tries on cloths* They fit! Lets go and capture some pirates!!

Okay lads, here's the plan. Berry Syedow met me last night and he's agreed to join the crew. We'll go to the tavern and get directions. After that something to eat and some rum. Then tonight we'll get into the fort. Rhymer launch a cannonball from farther out at sea. The pirates will scramble all around and become tired out. Then we'll give them much rum, they'll easily take it because of their thirst. Then we get in when they're drunk.

Posted

*Pirates run up gangway* Uhgh. We're not going yet. Rhymer, knock them into the bay! I'll push down this one. *BANG* Hit their heads with the butt of your rifle!

Okay, now we're off! Friday, Berry has the wine. Put the extra gunpowder in your sack. It's good that Rhymer is a good fighter. Otherewise the ppirates would know.

As for backup, I have a platoon of soldiers on a River Runner. We fire three shots when we're ready for them. Okay *Rounds corner* see those pirate guards? Give them wine, Berry, and say it's water. Then walk away when they drink. If you run to the left, you'll find a path, take the path, and you'll find us at the corner. We wait until they're drunk, then we take them out.

In a dramatic turn of events: Some scallywag already drank the wine! An' the real twist... it's been replaced with water!

*casually whistles while nearing the pirate guards*

Psst, I've got some vintage wine here. Ya can have it fer but a few pieces o' eight. What? No, no, no, I've since learned not to divulge in the evil that is alcoholic beverages. The wine's jest fine.

Hah, what chumps... huh? Not real, ye say?! I wasn't tryin' to bamboozle ya! Fer the love o' Moses!

Help, vahkimetru! I'm bein' berry-napped! Horrible things are bound to happen!

I hoped you guys had just been drunk! But-*BANG!*

One pirate and one Berry. *Pirate pulls berry to corner and yells *IMPERIALS!** *BANG!* Well I got him, but there's more. * SLIP SLAM* Oh great! Friday just tripped and spilled the gunpowder!

We don't have enough ammo left! Get to the ship!

3 minutes later...

Hurry mates, the whole pirate army is after us! What's that you say Rhymer? Ah yes! Thaat's a good thing! Fire cannons at the pirates!

BANG!

*Somewhere on the far side of St. Martin*

Pirate captain: Yarr! You haven't seen the last of our lot!

Posted

Somthing horrible this way comes! The pirates are following us! Ill man the harpoon. *bang* *hits* The pirates ship is sinking. OH NO!! More are coming. FIRE FIRE FIRE!! *bang bang bang* I will man the cannons now. *bang bang bang* Their all dead.

Posted

Yeah, but we still have to make the Pirate Fort and Imperial one. Turn the ship around. The town is clean of pirates, but I have a bad feeling about leaving the island alone. Send a letter to King Lego: St. Thomas is ours!

Out of game:To all current participents, thanks for all your help, we've completed quest one!

Nobody hasn't added anything to this thread since June 5th so I don't think anyone is playing.

In the future I'm going to make a controlled Pirate LEGO roleplaying and strategy game, but till then I'm not moderating any game threads, so anyone participating is on their own.
