lesager Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Hi there Eurobricks! Just wanted to say that I'm glad to see I'm not the only one returning to my favorite childhood playthings at an older age. While my brothers played video games as children, I was always in the background tinkering with my Lego sets. Although those are long lost, I've recently started buying up sets again. =) All thanks to a recent visit to my cousin who used to tinker around with them as well. It mostly started off with random purchases of the impulse sets (ha, now I get why they're so aptly named), but I just recently found some major deals on sets off Craigs List and boy am I in heaven (The Toy Story 7596 set is only $25 and the Star Wars Midi Destroyer 8099 was only $15 at Walmart). 2011 will surely be a great and happy year. Since this is my first venture into Lego as an adult, I'm finding more and more ways to enjoy the brand. This is my first time using LDD, and I think I'll have much more fun now that I don't need the actual bricks until the designs are completed. =) I'm currently digitally designing a Festival Stage (still incomplete), but since I got the new Toy Story sets with supports that look like stage trussing, I think I'll be redoing it all over: http://lesager.net/LDDScreenShot5.png - Larger than 800x600. Well, I look forward to contributing more to this community. I just wish there were some LUGs or a Lego Store in Las Vegas... =( Edited January 13, 2011 by lesager Quote

Dan the Brickman Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Welcome legaser! I think the closest store is in Portland Oregon. If you dont mind the drive... Its 8 hours from where I live... Quote
lesager Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 Oregon is actually pretty far from Las Vegas, NV. The closest ones are in either Arizona or in Southern California. I plan to visit one someday and just stock up on pick a bricks... Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Did you find your three elves? One of the packs I bought ended up being an elf. I think so - thanks for the tips. Great luck to have found an elf at random. I hope to see you in our forums (although you might want to watch your image sizes). EB has an 800x600 size limit and for the slower connection speeds, images larger can take a long time to load for some. Take Care and again, welcome! It's never too late to come out of the Dark Ages.
