Zeya Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Just a word of caution about TRU. I bought about 15 (5 sets of 3) packets of collectible minifigures at TRU during their buy-two-get-one-free sale. I tried to return 3 of them today (duplicates), and they all rang up as $0. I guess they take returns on the "free ones" first. If I were to return 8 packets, it would eat up the 5 "free" ones without returned money and THEN start returning money to me for 3 of them. See what I mean? Pretty lame, eh? So I think there's a way around this. For these types of sales, just make sure to ring them up 3 at a time in separate sales. Then you should be able to make a returns in the way you would expect. Same goes for buy-one-get-one sales, I suppose. P.S. A mere two or three days after the sale, they lowered their prices on the collectible minifigs by a dollar, pretty much nullifying the sweet deal I thought I was getting. TRU kind of sucks.
lesager Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 That sucks, but at the same time makes sense since they are a business trying to make money. The TRU near my house doesn't stock up on the Collectible minifigures. I wish they did though I would have a ton by now...
Donut Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have read quite a few stories about TRU's poor customer service, it seems to be contagious. With poor management, high MSRP, and shifty deals I hardly ever go to TRU unless I have the craving for some imperial speeder bikes.

TRU is really bad, huge mark-ups, really REALLY bad customer service, and fakey sales. I called mine once, reserved the stores last 10 series 2 minifigs. When I arrived 30 minutes later had been sold to another costumer. The 2 remaining were a ringmster and a skier. I. Hate. T. R. U. Thanks for the warning, I wont be buying series 3, though. Eagerly awaiting four....
UsernameMDM Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 During a B1G1 1/2 off sale, I bought a bunch of Series 3. I recent returned some of them and was refunded half price for every single one of them. I should have just kept them.
