Routemaster Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Picked one Set up at TRU today. Hopefully I start building it tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I will buy another one for the B-Model. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Building instructions of both models of 8070 are online at the Technic site: http://technic.lego.com/en-us/BuildingInstructions/default.aspx When looking through them, I immediately noticed the 16t clutch gears are shown without the ridges noone has ever used. JunkstyleGio Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 @ Erik Leppen: In the set itself they are just the regular ones..(TLG might have just forgotten to draw the ridges...) The 16t regular gear is the new and improved one though.. Quote
junglistjoey Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Loving the B model but seems a bit flimsy to me ... Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I've seen #8070 instructions via Technicbricks site; it seems truely a good model, but I'll study soon an alternate, maybe with similar body shape, but with working gearbox. PS I hate the only-HoG-mode ! Now I'm interested into the #8069 Backhoe and continuing my Tech-MOC (still in deep water with chassis building, sigh ), then I'll consider to buy it. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 @ Erik Leppen: TLG might have just forgotten to draw the ridges... I don't think this is the case. After so many years of correct modelling, suddenly they used another 3d-model in their software, by accident? I don't think so. I actually expect the ridges to disappear somewhere this or next year. After all, noone has ever used them as far as I know. Quote

Can't remember which one right now. Quote
chorlton Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 The UK Argos exclusive period must be up so that's mine ordered from shop.lego.com! It's with the courier now! <anticipation!> Quote

Interlocking two of them to transfer two rotations around on axle. Using an old differential instead would have been a nicer solution, but this was a moc build form the parts of one set. flyz Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Has anyone with the set made the demotorization mods yet? Would be interested to see what you've come up with. I have some ideas using panels from 8051 (bought 2 sets and took apart the main model because I got a 8420 cheap off BL ) but can't purchase the set locally in stores yet.... Quote
Jbird Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 does anyone know if this set 8070 and/or the unimog are going to be available at walmart? or even perhaps target? or are they only going to be sold at toysrus?? I would much rather buy this set at walmart... does anyone recall if offroader 8297 was sold at walmart? i figure they are similar and size and price and if walmart carried 8297 they should carry 8070 Quote
