gylman Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=KC757 OK, well, maybe not huge, except for keychain collecting freaks like me. But, a pleassant surprise. Can the Joker, Two Face, Catwoman, Riddler and others be far behind?? EDIT: OMG, the joker too! but only in Europe. http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=4493759&cn=155&d=21&t=7 and catwoman! http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=4493766&cn=155&d=21&t=7 YES! I have something to live for!! (if any European EBers are willing to buy these for me at S@H and ship to me... I would be most grateful). Will trade or pay through paypal.
eNiGMa Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Nice.... If the Joker keychain comes out in America any time soon, it might prove useful to snatch up and "modify" the chain out. Wouldn't be able to save the hair, but the rest of the fig should come out fine. Thanks for spotting this!
sam89 Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 There's a Robin as well! I'm going to get the two villains and Robin, so I don't have to buy the sets! EDIT: Even better: http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=4493781 Magnets! You can get all three for only
natelite Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 the most incredible thing(s) about the batman theme are the minifigs!! why only europe?! why?!?! gotta make a trip to the lego store and see if they have any in stock. i guess gylman doesnt need to get the minifigs off of ebay then ;-)
Morten Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Perfect news. I was only gonna buy the sets for the figs, now the magnets can provide all the cool figs for only 120 dkr = 16 Euros, perfect. Just called LEGOLand Denmark, they haven
gylman Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 Absolutely excellent. I usually get wind of the keychain releases in advance - these were a total surprise to me. Best treat I've had in ages. The magnets are great too. :-) :-P
Zane Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Anyone got any other magnets? Is there just a magnetic panel on the back that you can remove? I want to get a Killer Croc one, too....
natelite Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 i dont actually own any of the magnets but from description (from some of the ebayers) it seems the magnets are glued to the inside of the torso and the legs. the legs are also glued to the torso. visually they are no different compared to a normal minifig except for the fact that the legs are glued to the torso. you probably cant remove the glue because you will melt the plastic too with any kind of industrial thinner. that's a very very minor issue (about not being able to separate the legs and torso) with minifig collectors. if you are extremely skilled with a blade you might be able to cut the magnets out. *wacko* if you are extremely patient you can also slowly scrape the excess glue until you get a visually clean minifig (on the inside). but the effort is probably not worth it - probably easier just ebay or bricklink for a few more $$. i think TLG should seriously come up with minifig packs. save us the trouble and also will stop the gouging! :-D
sam89 Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Here's some pics of SW magents that show the magnets in the legs: http://www.fbtb.net/sets/index.asp?set=4269244 Like natelite said, they are visually no different to normal figs.
Zane Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Ah, that's cool. Thanks for the help guys! Definately buying them now!!
JoeMI6 Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 As Thrawn and I are going to Bluewater this week we'll be on the lookout for those maganets, I think I'll only get the set which has The Joker, Catwoman and Robin in em though.
Lord Thrawn Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Unless they have any Batman sets, which is wishful thinking, I'm probably gonna get both sets. I need a Batman for Batmonth.
languages Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 The wierd thing is, UK can have the magnets and keyrings, but we still dont have the actual sets!
JoeMI6 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Maybe they think if we get the keyrings and magnets we'll keep quiet about lack of sets... ;-)
Lord Thrawn Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 But the fact is that we don't even have the magnets in stores yet so...
JoeMI6 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I was talking about magnets and keychains in general, not these specific ones, sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
Lord Thrawn Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 But America get all kinds of magnets too! They got the SW magnets almost a full year before I saw them anywhere! I'm keeping my hopes up...
Zane Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Five minutes ago, the magnets were there to order - now the page doesn't even exist!!
Brett Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Gah. Now I can't even order them online... All of the Batman keychains are available at the Mall of America LEGO Store in Minnesota. 3.99 american each. You can call and get them shipped to any of the lower 48 states. (952)858-8949 -Brett
Lord Thrawn Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Problem is, Brett, that I live in the UK. Ah well, I've not got any money left anyway.
Vader Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Hmmmmmm its strange that they have now been removed, oh well i bet they will be back soon enough.
