Del Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Hi there Welcome to the forums. One way to generate a part list is to use LDD Manager. I have tried numerous times to download the LDD Manager and have failed. I am running Windows 7 and have experienced the following difficulties: 1) I first tried just running the program rather than saving it. Got the main window for for the program and tried to import an LDD file. It would not allow me to do this. I got some kind of message about needing some number. I wish I could be more specific, but I have been getting so many different error messages that I have lost track. Also opened as Read Only. 2) Today I tried saving the file to my computer. Downloaded 3 times to different places on my drive. Took a long time to find the file after that. I noted where it said it should be but when I went there it was nowhere to be seen. Eventually could find it on a window when I went to try another download. Tried to extract the file from there and got numerous error messages. I know it is on my computer in several places but can't get to them. In the download window the zip file is visible in a folder, but when I go to that folder on my computer, the file is not visible. This after I have changed the settings for folders to make all files visible. I have spent several hours trying to make this work. The basic screen options that I saw when I just ran the program indicate that it should do exactly what I want. However, so far this is way more trouble than it is worth. Thanks for trying though... Hi Del Sorry to hear about all your problems LDD Manager is a freeware tool I made on my spare-time. Therefore there is no installer included, and you have to know the basics of downloading files and putting them in a folder to use the program. Also, if you could be a bit more precise about the errors you get it would be good. Without them it will it's kind of difficult to help you. Anyway, I have to rush off to another thing now, but maybe some other of our LDD Forum users can help out here? Quote

So after my last reply, I played around some more and eventually managed to find the files. There were two fully downloaded and unzipped managers, one of which did not work and one of which did, at least for the one model that I downloaded as a trial. I added a short cut to my desktop and accessed the program from that successfully. I am somewhat relieved that I was able to get this going. I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7. Formerly I was an XP user. Every time they change these things, it's like a whole new world... Thank you very much for all the work that must have gone into producing this. Quote
