Very nice apart from the big wall pieces everywhere...But I do see the implement of corner wall pieces! This is a good start, 10 minifigs? I can smell classic castel a few years from now.

The good old Battle at the Pass! Who are the opposing sides?

The knights of Adric and Kentis vs Vladek's Rogue Knights.

You "smell classic castle" do you Evil Willy? Can you describe that scent? Does it smell like a brand new Castle set which was released 15 years ago? Do you think The LEGO Company will revert their designs back to what was done then?

I can't wait for this set to come out. Lots of grill helmets, some corner wall pieces in bley, and a nice set of doors. Plus, you just can't beat a fig count like that in a Castle set after the early 90s.

I didn't know about this, eek I'm so behind on Lego affairs (apart from Star Wars and Bionicle haha). Wow, finally a classic style Castle set, back to the basics :D. Castle sets certainly were superb all those years ago, I always admire the one my Auntie has every time I pay her a visit. I think I will pick this up, bring back some memories.

Phes it smells like moldy bread and fire...A hint of grinded stone is also in the air. It looks like were getting closer to 1x2 bricks and castle walls! To answer your question I *Hope* that LEGO will revert to the old designs.

i dont want to sound unfair, but in my honest opinion this is just complete mega blocks garbage. I mean the pass itself is made primarly from those <insert that tiresome argument> 1 peice wall pieces and cliff peices and castle turrets. The only parts that arent <insert that tiresome argument> are the seige engines. Sure we get the old helmets back. But buying this set will hardly be a cost effective way of getting them, as im sure youll end up hardly ever using those ridiculously junoiorized wall peices.

I disagree. This set is a step in the right direction minifigures and siege weapon wise. But not building wise, I agree on the juniorization. But still, it's not as bad as Mega block garbage. *n*

I like this and will definitely buy it ...... though i dislike the big wall pieces and the gold (if i'm not mistaken) colour pieces as well........

this is a better set than The tower of Mistland

Sorry Willy and other who think that somehow we are getting closer to classic castle. You are probably just getting stoned on the ABS vapour sublimating from those giant wall + window pieces due to their excessive surface area.

This set is closer to

or

than to this:

I have now finally accepted that unless a totally new line is coming out, Classic Castle is history. These sets are being designed for 7-12 year olds. Nothing wrong with that - that's TLCs market. But seroiusly, they owe more to recent megablok designs than to anything done by TLC in teh 1980s and 90s

Classic Castle can't come back until old grey returns! Not to mention normally coloured knights and useful pieces... I personally am switching almost entirely to used lego from the good old days. Classic Castle is returning to my house (via BL) ;-).

God Bless,

Classic or not this is the castle set of the decade. Loads of figures, weapons, seige parts and a decent wall, everything needed to play for hours on end. I will get this set for sure. Maybe even two!

I'm going to have to go for quality over quantity X-D!

When you look the sets in past years, this could be a good set....

It has a lot of figs and weapons, and good selection of parts....

But that KK2 style... I just don't love that glowing colors...And that BIONICLE things which are falling at the gate...A couple of halberds would be better...

Nice figs, but i wish they arrive in some better sets...

Greetings from Serbia

The figs are ok, but everything else is disappointing.

Like other KKII sets, this seems 'thrown together' with little or no thought. While other lines have matured, KKII seems to fixate on the Juniorization trend of the mid to late 1990s. Personally, I hate the colour-coded building scheme that dominates <insert that tiresome argument> sets more than anything!

A definite pass.

nice figs, wepons, and gate, but those colors are disgusting :-X , why can't LEGO make colors like this anymore I think it's alright if there is a one or two peices like this in a castle set, but then if it has a couple of these dark green things it's gone too far. :-|

Evil Willy and other Imperial Guard enthusiasts, this is the first time we've seen major use of white castle walls since the Pirate theme! Does anyone think these brick textured wall pieces would be suitable for Imperial MOCs?

What White ?? Those walls are light bluish grey (and I hope printed with that rock pattern) ;-)

To answer your question, any wall parts that are light in colour (grey/white) can be nice for Castles, towns and Imperial Mocs !!

The real question is how much of a purist are you ? A real purist will never consider that option on the first place ;-)

Light bluish-grey? AYE CARUMBA!!! I badly need a new monitor unless Armada Yoda is trying hoodwink me! Those pictures make the walls look white to me! Are there any other pictures of this set in different lighting conditions?

I'm about 80% purist - the other 20% gives way to newer pieces (should they be suitable) to allow for innovation. I don't want to be 100% purist and remain in the past, rather I'd prefer to utilise the newer pieces that work well with the older pieces. I.e. they don't stand out too much. However, I don't think a light bluish-grey Imperial MOC would be appropriate.
