Titch Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Has anybody got any ideas on how to fold the big UCS boxes like the Star Destroyer and Milennium Falcon for international shipping so that the boxes themselves are not damaged and can be reconstructed? Quote
Follows Closely Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Has anybody got any ideas on how to fold the big UCS boxes like the Star Destroyer and Milennium Falcon for international shipping so that the boxes themselves are not damaged and can be reconstructed? I don't see how you could do this and save much space. As the flattened box would be very large, thin but very large. The inner boxes would have to be flattened as well. You would be better off just paying the full postage. Quote
Seluryar Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 i always thought that size of the box didnt matter for pricing and that what you pay for is the weight of the box Quote
Legoman Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 i always thought that size of the box didnt matter for pricing and that what you pay for is the weight of the box Weight has a varying factor in price depending where you live. But Size is (amlost) always part of it too The boxes of the 4 giant sets (10030, 10143, 10179 and 10188) are all quite solid and are made to be so. You won't be able to break them down very easily at all due to their design. If the box matters, you'd be better off just getting it sent MISB in the original Lego shipping box. If you really wanted to save postage costs, you'd need to get it without the box(or inner boxes), which would save quite a bit, but then it wouldn't be MISB as such Hope this helps Quote
