DLuders Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) On his Flickr photostream, Latvian AFOL "Rolic" (Rolands Kirpis) posted 12 images of his 1957 Chevrolet Truck. It was built for the LUGnuts "The Food We Eat" Challenge. Australian AFOL "Lego911" (Peter Blackert) posted 14 images of his entry for the LUGnuts challenge on his Flickr photostream. He constructed a "Claas AXION Tractor with Claas QUANTUM Foraging Trailer [in] LDD The Claas QUANTUM Forager is the ideal farm tool to gather mown feed on the farm to feed livestock. The load can be pretty big though. Ideally you could tow it using the massive Claas AXION 4wd Tractor. With up to 175 kW and neaarly 1000 Nm of torque it can move pretty much anything. This Claas AXION has been modelled in Lego bricks using Lego Design By Me prototyping software for Flickr LUGNuts 37th Build Challenge - 'The Food We Eat' celebrating vehicles used in the production or distribution of food, or just with funny food derived names. I have chosen to build the Claas AXION, after driving past the Claas distribution centre in Laverton (Melbourne), Victoria, and admiring their lovely lime green colour. Further research has highlighted the supreme capability the Claas Tractor range is capable of. I went to see one today up close, and it was awesome!" Edited December 3, 2010 by DLuders Quote
TechnicJuan Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 That is very awesome. That designer builds some amazing vehicles. Quote
DLuders Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) Also for the LUGnuts challegne, Lego911 posted images on his Flickr photostream of "Claas ARION 600 Tractor" "The tractor range covering the middles spread of the Claas Tractors, the ARION 600 has a 6.8 litre 6-cylinder engine with power outputs between 96 and 118 kW. There are other Arion 500 and 400 models with 4.5 litre, 4-cylinder power between 75 and 103 kW. The wheelbase is 2,820 mm (ARION 400 - 2560mm). The height of the ARION 600 is approximately 3 metres. This tractor weighs approximately 6,000 kg. The ARION 400 and 500 are approximately 5,000 kg. I built a water carting trailer for this model, but it looked pathetic, so I have not included it in the photographs. Unfortunately, Australia had been locked in drought for a number of yeears, and carting wtaer had become a neccesity for far too many farmers to keep their animals alive. Fortunately the drought has now ended for most areas in the country." Edited December 4, 2010 by DLuders Quote
buddy Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Great creations! I particualrly like the tractor built using real bricks,it looks very realistic and it looks better in real-life than on LDD. ~buddy~ Quote
DLuders Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Lego911 is still adding more entries for the LUGnuts challenge. From his Flickr photostream: "Claas AXOS with Digger tool - LDD" "One of the smaller Claas Tractors, the AXOS has a 4.4 litre 4-cylinder engine withpower outputs between 55 and 75 kW. It is shown here with a Digger tool, commonly used by farmers for lifting feed, moving manure and digging holes. The wheelbase is comparatively short 2,489 mm, which is also its approximate height. This tractor weighs approximately 2,500 kg and is highly manouvreable. Here it is equiped with a furrowing tool (for creating furrows). The outer blades are folded in to make the tractor and tool more compact for travel on the road or through tighter environments." He now has a complete size range of Claas tractors: "Claas Tractor Range 2010 - LDD" "A mostly complete selection of the smaller end of the Claas Tractor Range: Claas ELIOS (open) Claas ELIOS (Cabin) Claas AXOS (small wheels) Claas AXOS (big wheels) Claas ARION 400 (SWB) Claas ARION 600 (LWB) Claas AXION" Quote
