phoinix Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Found this train set from 1999 at my local toy store http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=4561-1 im thinking of getting it...still dont know whats the price of it..they dont have an official one yet cause this set came from another store as they ecxplained.... i dont have a train in my collection and i wanted to ask you if you think this is a good purchaise... would really appretiate your opinion! thanks :) Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Not one of Lego's best trains in my opinion. I'd buy it, then sell it off Bricklink and buy a better train of Bricklink/Ebay/S@H. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Phoinix: this is the worst train set that Lego ever produced. The only good thing(s) about the set is that it came with a crossing and a lot of accessories + track and a transformer. I bought it as a gift and was very disappointed with it. It is definately not the "typical" Lego train set and I would recommend you save your $ on a train you can still buy from SAH. I think the passenger train (green/white) is still available and is a much better train set. The cargo train that is no longer available is esp. a good set (if you can find). Quote
snefroe Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i don't like this train either, and I wouldn't buy it. Maybe you can purchase this one and sell it later in the year on ebay, depending on the price. Quote
phoinix Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 the price of the train set is 100 euros...i think this is pretty good..i also think this isnt the best train set but as i dont have another train i want to use this one to modify the harry potter-push along train whitch i got because i couldnt find the 9v one... so what do you think about the price and the modification capabilities? (i dont have any other trains so i dont know if it will work) thanks *sweet* Quote
snefroe Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 on bl you'd get a new one for $104 so 100 euro is about average to even a bit high... in terms of modification, i guess you can do or try anything. I mean, this set comes will all typical train parts, right? Quote
phoinix Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 yeap as i saw it comes with all train parts.. still dont know what to do about this thow... will probaply get this since trains are really hard to find in greece.... but then again what if i fall in love with one of the new ones...dont have that much money! :-/ thanks for all the help and advise thow...i really apretiate it!! *wub* Quote
